I don't have a credit card and my bank would probably not give me one.

So I can send photo ID how? not that I have any but my line has been active with you and previously your parent company for 15+ years.

By email?

Well if that's how much you respect your customers security I'm glad I don't have a credit card because with your security standards hackers would have them shortly...

I guess whenever I get blocked from a site (archive.org for example) I'll just have to spin up Tor..

Incompetent en**bleep**ification..

Strangely the cesspit that is 4chan no blocking at all... Useless...

@en5h1tification  I don't know who you think you are writing to exactly here, but it ain't Smarty themselves if that's what you thought.

We are forum members - customers like you and we do not control accounts.

https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/1066648-parental-restrictions  They ask for proof of ID via Emil, as you say. Presumably they then take some further measures to ensure it is genuine (they are unlikely to share that with us for security reasons).

It sounds like you have not gone through the process fully, so why are you ranting with language that has to be beeped out?

OK sorry, I didn't realise that Smarty don't read these. I mean why would they it's only a forum linked to on their site.

My point is:

I can't go through the process fully.

1. I do not have a credit card

2. EMAIL is not a secure method of comunication, unless you go down the route of encrypting the contents, I won't bore you with the details but that would require them providing a public key to encrypt the data.

Sending a copy of Photo ID via email is a VERY bad idea.

If Smarty think this is secure how can anything they do be trusted as they clearly don't have a clue.

On the bleeped out bit a non swear word can contain the letters of a swear word just ask anyone from Sc un thorpe

@en5h1tification OK, I get that you aren't happy with the process offered by them.

How about contacting them to see if they cn offer something alternative?

I don't know if any other networks offer a different method but it may be worth investigating.
