merger
12 TopicsUNABLE TO MAKE CALLS OR ACCESS THE INTERNET
I am now entering the third week without the ability to make calls or access the internet. Each time I contact support via web chat, I receive the same generic response: “Sorry for the inconvenience, engineers are looking into the issue.” Requests for an estimated resolution time are met with the same repeated message, with no meaningful update or explanation and that I should use the online network service checker. During my most recent interaction, I asked to speak with a manager due to the unacceptable length of this outage. Unfortunately, the manager simply repeated the same scripted responses, including the standard disclaimer that coverage cannot be guaranteed and that I should check the coverage in my area. I have already done this, and according to the company’s own online coverage checker, service should be strong both indoors and outdoors. Surely with the Vodafone–Three merger (which includes Smarty), shouldn't the network theoretically be more stable and faster than before. Given the lack of transparency, the absence of progress, and the ongoing disruption to essential services, I am now seriously considering escalating this matter to CISAS (the Communications and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme).60Views1like1CommentPoor service so far
Just joined Smarty and not impressed. I get missed calls when the phone is next to me, phone not ringing. Weak signal constantly and WiFi calling doesn’t appear to work despite being enabled. Phone in London and performance much worse than my last provider, Is this to with the recent merger? I thought days of walking around to get a decent signal were in the past.69Views0likes0CommentsThe overall Network Up And Download Speeds
Did the overall network uploads and downloads get worse for anyone else after the 'improvements', that started on I think Thursday or Wednesday prior to this post, concluded? Did they even conclude? I'm confused, because I swear my speeds have greatly diminished. They were awesome prior to these... 'improvements'. The network checker is telling me that 'their system hasn't reported any network issues.'. Before I was getting I think around 70 to 100mbps download or something like that, and around 15 to 17mbps uploads or maybe 20. The uploads seem to be around that area again, but the downloads, they're at like, 5-20mbps now. Not sure if it's something on my end, or if I'm not alone in this. Things seem unusual at the moment.66Views0likes1CommentScam Alert
I was contacted today by a certain number stating that Smarty is trying to move their customers to Three network and that my sim will be blocked and a new sim will be sent to my address. They tried getting my personal information, account information and card information. But I refused to provide my card information to them. Can anyone confirm this information as true or false because I’m so puzzled121Views1like2CommentsThe group plan 'upgrade'
To make sure I understood, if I want to change to mix group plan of 16gb / £7.2, I have to give up my 24gb / £7, which I use now? Therefore pay more and get less, just so I can be....in a group? It seems that when you change to group plan - which would be great to manage entire family - you also have to choose different plans. Am I seeing right? I recently read that the Smarty/Three network will join up with the Vodafone network and switch between the two depending on which signal is stronger. This is great news as I've had bad reception in my area. After doing some research on https://bidb.uk/ it shows that the Vodafone network is the best in my area and covers most places I go to such as work. Will we get any messages when this will done in my area?260Views0likes1CommentSmarty decline since merger
Any one else noticed the decline in data speeds and reliability since the merger. Smarty outages are now lasting days instead of hours, 2 - days now with less than 2Mbs, sometimes drops to 0.5Mbs on 4G - upload speeds are fine at 20Mbs. I used to get 70Mbs download even on 4G+. Three as always says work on going but Smarty only sends you to the community, not sure they have a customer service portal.300Views3likes3CommentsURGENT: SMARTY is failing now, time to move to ID
Compare Smarty to ID on here: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/ Smarty is honestly terrible. ID offers so much more on the same network for the same price. They offer more data per £, data rollover, more EU countries access, 30GB EU Roaming (18 more than Smarty), e-sim for Watches, 3 months of Apple TV + Music. It is a no-brainer to switch now, Smarty has lost it's game sadly.946Views0likes2Comments
