I see most new iPads now are eSIM only and its rumoured that the new iPhone in the UK maybe eSIM only.
Currently I use a Smartly data only Sim card in my iPad Mini 6 and looking at the iPad Mini 7 it only has eSIM.
I did recently get an iPhone 16e to replace my iPhone 11 and thankfully that still uses a SIM card.
Any info would be helpfully.

@DarrenN This has come up many times - particularly in Smarty Lab Ideas - and there has not been any positive response yet from Smarty.

Reference the ESIM, It seems strange why Smarty doesn’t yet offer this?
although using a sim is pretty straight forward, the likes of Apple , ( and surely Android will follow ), are increasingly going down the road of removing card support.
They already don’t offer SIM card support in the USA??

@Nichola_1469149 If you look at the 'Ideas' section of the forum, there was a lot of comment on this subject and you will notice that the Forum Manager has changed the status to 'Accepted'. This should mean that it is coming soon.
The iPhone 17 is due at the end of this month and it would not totally surprise me if the sim were to become available just about then. As you say, this seems to be the future for sims and I expect smarty won't want to lose customers if this can be done easily (and cheaply).

I don't understand why Smart doesn't support ESIM when this questin has been asked so many times.
I am planning to move from Vodafone to smarty. I have been using vodafone Esim as for some reason physical sim stopped working ( tried other sims as well so problem is with sim reader). But because smarty isn't offering ESIM so I need to look for other options now. I am not going to change phone when there are many other providers offering ESIM.

Just moved to Smarty but shortly upgrading my phone (now discovered it's esim only). I suppose my only option is to switch to another provider?

@Christo_3533874 If you look at the 'Ideas" section, you will see that they set the status of this sim suggestion to "Accepted" a hole ago and so are presumable working on it.
As a guide, people asked for short code texts back in the Stone Age and that was only brought in recently - the cogs turn slowly.
If the new sim only phone (iPhone 17?) is important to you, then unfortunately you may need to jump over to another network if Smarty don't get this in place by the end of Sept. 2025.

@Muhamma_3441127 Not sure what anyone can really say to help you here. If having an Esim is of great importance, then you will certainly need to move to a network that offers it.
For very many customers, it is not a deal breaker.
The good thing is that you are not tied into a long contract.
If you look at how long people have been asking without success, it clearly does not affect Smarty business too much as their numbers are still healthy.
