Bought new sim but no option on account to acivate

I’ve bought a sim from a store and want to add the sim to my account but there is no option to do this in my account. It just prompts me that my number has not been applied yet. 

it looks like on account creation it decided to send me a sim and not use what I already have. 

is there a way to activate the sim I have?
