I am using a samsung phone as a mifi device, purposely bought with a damaged screen because it was cheaper than buying a mifi device. But it is limited to USB 2.0. I changed cables to 3.2 and the realised the phones usb port is still only 2.0 - my pc is 3.2. 2.0 of course creates the limit there. 300-350mbps
My daily is a s23ultra and when I hook that up with a 2.0 lead, it works fine but when I hook it up with a 3.2 cable it just disconnects as soon as it connects. The usb socket on the s23ultra is 3.2. At first I was able to get a speed test and it was indeed almost 600mbps which is what the phone gets pretty much so I was very happy.
I am happy with the 300-350mbps I get but you know, if its capable, why not eh. I mean, i can download huge game updates almost twice as quick which is the main reason I am trying to achieve this. My one concern is the phone I use for mifi, when I download a full game like tonight, 85.5GB, the phone was quite warm afterwards. I wonder if I am pushing the s23ultra but then, I was only connecting, not downloading really. It just discons straight away, but it remains connected on 2.0 cable.
