Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the APN on an Avtex AMR 994X?

@AmandaB_2585409  Yes, you get into the settings by typing 192.168.1.1 in the url bar of your browser. and go from there.

A simple Google search also took me to the support document for the very same router - https://www.avtex.co.uk/user-manuals/english/290-amr994x/file

@MSF

Thanks for the response, much appreciated.

I have the manual and have gone o to the router management but can't see anywhere how to change the APN  there isn't even a protected field saying what the current APN is. The only place APN is mentioned is time out limited for APN connection.

I managed to find the APN setting by going to โ€œLink Managerโ€ then โ€œLink Settingsโ€ and clicking on the little pen icon in the lower panel next to WWAN1. On that new panel the top entry is โ€œautomatic APN selectionโ€ which I turned to OFF then entered โ€œmob.Sam.netโ€ in the APN field - but Iโ€™m still in UK so wonโ€™t know if it works until a couple of days time!

Sorry spellcheck got in the way - I changed APN to mob.asm.net

@MikeGatt_661650 It shouldn't make any difference if you are still in the UK.

I think the majority of us make the change to mob.asm.net just once and never need to go back to anything else.

@AmandaB_2585409  The APN will need to be set to mob.asm.net. Other than that, I cannot help further as I do not have one.

If you are stuck, why not call the company? : https://www.avtex.co.uk/support
