roaming

Quick question, I just wanted to check something with you all about roaming in USA. With the other providers i have used in the past i always buy a "data package", e.g 10gb for £20. Am i right in thinking that Smarty dont so that, they ask you to add £5,10,20 "out of plan" add on, then you used data, calls etc at 10p meg until you run out of money. Is that right? there is no "data package" i can buy. Just want to make sure i buy the right package before i get a load of roaming charges.10Views0likes0CommentsEU roaming - EDGE/3G
On a recent EU trip, I had the worst experience so far with SMARTY’s EU roaming: In Belgium, I was on EDGE for the vast majority of the time. In France, I was on 3G/UMTS for the vast majority of the time. 3G is at least mildly usable for data, whereas EDGE is not. Why is SMARTY being allowed to advertise inclusive EU roaming that is essentially unusable? Previously mentioned excuses, such as that SMARTY can’t control what service level other operators provide, and/or that they prioritise their own customers, are of course nonsense, since SMARTY is also one of their customers (directly or indirectly), and a better service level could be written in to the contract which SMARTY (directly or indirectly) has with them. For those tempted to say, “If you want a premium roaming service, go elsewhere,” this is missing the point. SMARTY is advertising inclusive EU roaming, but providing roaming in a particular EU country predominantly through EDGE masts is essentially not providing roaming at all.16Views0likes0CommentsPhone Sim not connecting in Router
Hi all, I have a smarty data sim that I was using in my Cudy 4G router, all good. As I was low on data I tried to put my smarty phone sim in the router as it has 50gb pack but it will not access the internet, I have activated the sim and reset the API but it will not connect, when I put the data sil back in it works fine again. Any ideas? kindest regards, Al.29Views0likes0CommentsSmarty sim not working in Australia
Very disappointed that my Smarty Sim is not working in Australia. Didn’t realise, before travelling, it would be a problem and surprised when I got to Australia that I could only get an SOS mobile connection. My wife’s phone working fine on giffgaff and connecting to a local network. Then read all the related posts about problems people have had with Smarty in Australia. I have bought an Optus esim for data and calls/text (local and international) but still no way to access my calls to/from my usual uk number. If I had known in advance I would have forwarded calls to my uk number onto my wife’s phone before travelling but too late now. Hope Smarty sorts this out soon or I am off to another network.120Views0likes4CommentsNew to SMARTY - Do I Change Network Settings If Not Going Abroad?
I just switched to SMARTY and was wondering if I am not going abroad do/should I still change the Mobile Data Network settings. At the moment everything is correct except in the APN field it says three.co.uk instead of mob.asm.net22Views0likes0CommentsData roaming in EU complaint

Hi, my wife went to Poland, and the service works very strangely there. She's got internet access without issues, but she can't call anyone (neither PL nor UK numbers). She can receive calls though, so that's not network configuration issue. She was able to call a Polish number once today, but not any more. From what I understood, when travelling to an EU country we should be able to call both UK numbers and numbers local to that country. What is going on?Solved62Views0likes2Comments
