Phone number not completely changed over
Ive been with smarty for over a month now and my phone number has not changed over completely. I am currently using my own phone number as it did migrate over but when i send someone an sms message they receive it from the smarty sim card number and dont know who i am. When they send me a message it comes through fine and if i ring the smarty sim number it is not recognised. How do i get my original phone number to show up to receiptients on an sms.
Has porting not properly worked?
I ported my old number to Smarty a couple of months ago and am using the Smarty sim in a new phone. I purchased a new (not smarty) sim for my old phone which has a completely new to me number. Both phones are iPhones and are using my Apple ID. Occasionally, I am still receiving calls to my old phone when the caller has dialled the number that is attached to my new phone! I am baffled! How can that happen? The sim that is in my old phone has never been associated with the number on the sim in my new phone. Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening? Thanks
Smarty is very stupiddy...
Wow, nothing but profound problems -- I have paid but they won't hook me hooked me up to to my line. I keep getting chirpy messages telling me to sort out my own phone so I connect woth them! will be asking for my pac code as soon as they (if they know how) get my number transferred. I have discovered recently it is very important to find out if the customer service of a mobile phone company is based in Europe rather than India.. Oops, I forgot to ask, but 1 minute on the Web chat and belatedly figured out to my horror it was India. I am just praying they can manage the number switch before the end of the month. In the meantime I still have my Lycamobile (I was leaving them because they are based in Sri Lanka, haha) I cannot believe Which? have them as a recommended supplier. In the future I will never trust Which?
