Roaming in Poland - data works, but no calling
Hi, my wife went to Poland, and the service works very strangely there. She's got internet access without issues, but she can't call anyone (neither PL nor UK numbers). She can receive calls though, so that's not network configuration issue. She was able to call a Polish number once today, but not any more. From what I understood, when travelling to an EU country we should be able to call both UK numbers and numbers local to that country. As the title reads, my RCS chat for Google Messages has been stuck on "setting up" since getting my Smarty SIM and porting my old number to it. There was a brief period where I had both new and old SIM cards in the phone (S22) as I needed data but also needed to be contactable while I waited for the port to finish but it's just the Smarty SIM now in slot 1. I've tried all of the usual steps such as clearing the data for messages and carrier settings, restarting, etc but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions before I give up? I didn't get any alert today. I've got an S10 with OS 12 for Android. I've got the Emergency Alert Notification switched on in settings so i don't know why I and the rest of my family who also use Smarty, didn't get anything. Does anyone know how to contact Smarty to resolve service outages? we have been without data service for 6 days with no ability to find out what is going on or how long we can expect no internet service. their network checker just says there is a problem and we are fixing it as quickly as possible. I have been with Smarty for a couple of years. Today for the first time I have started getting messages pop up on my iPhone telling me "Your mobile plan doesn't support iCloud Private Relay: To access the internet with this provider, you need to turn off Private Relay. Turning off Private Relay means this provider can monitor your internet activity and your IP address will not be hidden". I don't know too much about whether this important or not, but I am confused about why this has just started today. I joined Smarty as they said they provided a good service in St David's Pembrokeshire (SA62 6RR). They lied as since I have been here I have consistently poor service, less that 1 m/b, using 4G and numerous outages. All their service status checker says is we are working an issue or there is heavy usage on the mast near me. Smarty sort out your network and it's availability as it sucks.677Views0likes8Comments
