Adult settings on/off

The user experience for this setting is appalling! I only just realised that my son's phone number had this option and I wanted to make sure adult content was filtered out. I found the setting which has a tick box and says "Adult content access off". It is super unclear if ticking this box will turn it off or on! I ticked it, used a credit card and then realised it was on. I then unticked it again.

In addition to this the whole process of activating it says a credit card needs to be used. However, it is not very easy to see. People are not interested in reading through lots of information and just need something they can use without needing to think too much about it. I used a debit card and I got an error which did not explain what the problem was.

Your UI team needs to work on this to make it MUCH clearer that a CREDIT card is needed. They also need to make it clearer about the setting. For example clicking a button which then says ON or OFF. If you really need a tick box, it could be Tick the box to filter out adult content. Tick boxes are not a good UI though, especially where there is one option

@AdamBar_1260969 When you say 'your team' you are not writing to Smarty here directly; this is the Community Forum comprising in the main customers like you.

Adult content is off by default. A credit card is needed as customers need to be 18 or over to have one.

When you try to turn that content on by ticking the box, the clear message reads:

You need to be 18 or older

Select or add a credit card to your account to confirm that you are over 18. The card must belong to the account user. To verify your age we will charge you £1, which will be refunded.

Not sure how much clearer they can make it.
