wi-fi calling
58 Topicswi fi calling sucks
Hi all, Has anyone found any tips, tricks, or settings that improve Wi-Fi Calling? So far I have: Turned off Wi-Fi Assist on iPhone (iOS). Updated to the latest router recommended by the network provider. Unfortunately, the experience is exactly the same as with my previous router. I had expected Wi-Fi Calling to be more reliable given that it uses relatively little data. My issue is quite specific: I can hear the other person perfectly, but they often tell me that the first few words I say are cut off, particularly when I start speaking after a pause in the conversation. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.54Views0likes2CommentsPoor service so far
Just joined Smarty and not impressed. I get missed calls when the phone is next to me, phone not ringing. Weak signal constantly and WiFi calling doesn’t appear to work despite being enabled. Phone in London and performance much worse than my last provider, Is this to with the recent merger? I thought days of walking around to get a decent signal were in the past.62Views0likes0CommentsDre 806
It’s currently 12:53pm 29/4/2026. I haven’t been able to make or receive a single call for over 24 hours. All my phone settings are as they should be, I have even put my sim into another phone and same issue.. This is a constant issue with UC Smarty. My data is working fine and I can make calls through WhatsApp, FaceTime, and other apps that use WiFi or internet to make calls. However, when people call my phone it says my number is no longer available. I have serious calls I need to make that I cannot. I am also waiting for important calls which can lead to legal repercussions if I’m am unable to speak to the person attempting to contact me. There is no way to contact anyone from smarty, no way to get a response from a real person as opposed to a BOT or AI and as usual there is NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS BEEN GIVE A SOLUTION for similar issues. How will this problem be fixed. When will it be fixed. Will I receive any repayments for not being provided with a service I am paying for?29Views0likes1CommentSamsung S25 Ultra WiFi Calling option disappeared
Hi guys Recently I have been told my calls sound distorted randomly during calls, and also I'm getting missed call text notifications as opposed to a missed call graphic on the green call icon. Not even showing a missed call in the call log, just an SMS saying I missed a call. So, I thought to enable WiFi calling thinking this may help, but that option is no longer showing in my S25 at all anywhere. In fact, searching for "WiFi calling" on the phone shows no results either. I have tried suggestions for checking for software updates, enabling flight mode for 10 secs, resetting mobile network, rebooting the phone etc, but the wifi calling option is not showing at all. Would anyone be able to suggest help for this please. My wife's S23 doesn't have this option either, and she is with Smarty too. I presume other S25 Ultra Smarty users have the WiFi calling tab availble to enable/disable to them? Thanks all.295Views0likes1CommentSony Xperia V IV compatibility
I've just switched over to Smarty from BT mobile. Using an unlocked Sony Xperia V IV . It seems this phone is not compatible with Smarty WiFi calling or VoLTE ? Additionally I am unable to get any incoming voice calls - they all go direct to vmail. I can make outgoing voice calls ok and have a good signal -105dBm and 4G. Does anyone have any success with Sony Xperia and Smarty.. ?16Views0likes0CommentsDay 24 IMS REGISTRATION - AUTHORISATION NEEDED
I joined Smarty in February. In a few days time it will be one month being with Smarty. During that time no problem with data. I am on an unlimited plan data, calls and text. Not getting calls or text. Only had the service (call/text) for two days so far. That is not an unlimited service. I am not registered on IMS. IMS registration is needed. IMS needs to be registered on my phone for VoLTE (Voice over LTE - making and receiving a calls) Wi-Fi calling and RCS messaging to work. Any Smarty Customer having any issues with calls or text it. This may be your problem? To anyone at Smarty who can rectify this for me one day soon - I'd be very happy.128Views0likes6CommentsSmarty Coverage claimed vs Actual
The Coverage Claimed: "Yes - Excellent service Indoor and Outdoor" My Actual Coverage : NO Outdoor BARS (ever) but not "No Service" Indoors is similar, but dBm readings are worse What I need: One Time Passwords arriving before expiry (if at all) would be a good start, OTP by SMS is like London buses - None for ages, then three all at once What I'd like: Incoming calls to my phone, not to Voicemail when I AM at home. I'm 87 - Normally, I AM at home About Me: I worked in IT from age 20 to retirement at 67 I still offer a Fix your PC service to my local community, so I can cope with tech to a fair degree This issue is really about variable radio signal quality rather than nice, easy, digital logic I hope my issues will ring many bells for many other users My Environment Summary: I live in a Victorian brick semi-detached house in flat countryside SE of Maidstone. My office has excellent wifi, but no chance of mobile signal. (Thick brick etc) BBand It's an FTTC service today (15 MBps down, + 0.5 MBps up), 1.6kms distant from the cabinet MAJOR CHANGE SOON: FTTP will be installed next week Phone Settings WiFi is Calling is always ON - of course. They say "Wi-Fi calling allows smartphones to make and RECEIVE [??] calls." That's not my experience for Receive - and not on SMS either WhatsApp gives a far more reliable service, but callers usually use the conventional mobile network to make their calls. How you can help: I'd really like to understand what affects my phone's visibility on the mobile network, and what I can do to improve it. Here are some SIM card status results for signal strength My readings were taken Outside on a 1st floor balcony Mobile network state "Disconnected" Best dBm: -114dBm Worst -127dBm I have an EE SIM on the way to get some EE signal strength readings Looking at EE coverage map, I think EE will be worse than SMARTY O2 and Vodafone's claims are nowhere near Spilly184Views0likes5CommentsDay 23 Service Status Out of Service
Can anyone tell me why I constantly have Service Status: Out of Service? I am a new Smarty Customer. In 23 days I have only been able to use my phone twice. This is on the same day as contacting Smarty. Everything works perfectly fine but the next day Service Status is back to Out of Service. Data is working very well so far. No problem there. It's like the phone sees the Network but is not authorised to use it. I cannot access my online banking as the code that is sent to SMS is not sent. I cannot call anyone nor can they call me. I have already missed 3 appointments because of this. I need to make a hospital appointment and can not do it. I am paying for an unlimited plan but only getting data access. I have been on live chat for hours trying to get a positive outcome. Although helpful and polite. Each Agent goes through the same series of things to do but it makes no difference. I can make WhatsApp calls but certain companies will only accept calling me on my mobile number which they cannot do. Please if anyone knows how to contact Smarty Technical Team or how to solve this I would be so greatful. My next payment is in 5 days time and after nearly a month. I am NOT getting the service I am paying for. Smarty will be able to see how many phone calls and text I have made. This is so stressful.110Views0likes3CommentsAnother day. No Service 😭
Sadly, I am back again. Still having problems staying connected to the Network so that I can make receive calls etc. Is there a reason for this? Why can't I stay connected to the Network??? Now on day 22... Only had two days where I could make calls, receive call and get text including short codes. Now the Service Status is back to Out of Service. I am trying to be patient but it's not really fair to be paying for Unlimited data, calls and text and only get service for 2 days out of 22. Can this be fixed permanently???90Views0likes1Comment
