WhatsApp verification - EU
I am overseas (Greece) and have had to change my phone over, I re downloaded WhatsApp & I cannot receive the verification codes via SMS or calls, email is not an option. I've tried manually selecting the network but still doesn't work. I've received verification messages for other services all okay, such as FB, Instagram etc Meta accounts have linked to WhatsApp but it won't let me use them to log in, any other suggestions welcome. WiFi calling switched on, APN settings to use my phone abroad all correct. Chatgbt suggested something with shortcodes? Smarty chat help suggesting adding a small amount to add on to see if it bypasses the issue

Hi I’ve just received the following text that I’m pretty sure it’s a scam as I’ve not signed up for anything other than my mobile package over a year ago or there abouts: “You signed up for SMS from shortcode 60551. You've insufficient funds to receive it so need to buy an add-on. Visit https://info.smarty.uk/c9i8x1x9 for details.”Very difficult scam
I've been charged £4.50 every week for this website funvids, I didn't even press anything, I just opened it, and somehow it got my phone number and has been charging me on my phone bill weekly, what can I do? Or can smarty block 3rd party payments? I've tried messaging 'STOP' to their shortcode 65065, but it said I have insufficient funds, so I bought a £5 bolt on that said it could message shortcodes, I converted it to credit, sent the message again, and it still didn't work, so I don't know what to do
Another day. No Service 😭
Sadly, I am back again. Still having problems staying connected to the Network so that I can make receive calls etc. Is there a reason for this? Why can't I stay connected to the Network??? Now on day 22... Only had two days where I could make calls, receive call and get text including short codes. Now the Service Status is back to Out of Service. I am trying to be patient but it's not really fair to be paying for Unlimited data, calls and text and only get service for 2 days out of 22. Can this be fixed permanently???
URGENT: SMARTY is failing now, time to move to ID
Compare Smarty to ID on here: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/ Smarty is honestly terrible. ID offers so much more on the same network for the same price. They offer more data per £, data rollover, more EU countries access, 30GB EU Roaming (18 more than Smarty), e-sim for Watches, 3 months of Apple TV + Music. It is a no-brainer to switch now, Smarty has lost it's game sadly.
Getting so many SPAM texts from short codes
It's really concerning that I've been getting so many SPAM texts in my SMS inbox the past 10 days or so. Just this morning, I've already gotten 6, and it seems like it's getting worse every day! I'm getting tired of reporting so many things as SPAM everyday and no seeming improvement. Could I just ask if Smarty is aware of this and what is being done to address this growing problem?
