URGENT: SMARTY is failing now, time to move to ID
Compare Smarty to ID on here: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/ Smarty is honestly terrible. ID offers so much more on the same network for the same price. They offer more data per £, data rollover, more EU countries access, 30GB EU Roaming (18 more than Smarty), e-sim for Watches, 3 months of Apple TV + Music. It is a no-brainer to switch now, Smarty has lost it's game sadly.795Views0likes2CommentsHow can sending just 13 texts in a group be classed as "business purposes" and banned ??
I tried to send just 13 texts on a group msg and received a "Message not sent: service not activated on network" error. After a long and painful online chat (you know the kind: turn off phone take out SIM wait 3 min etc etc) the online rep decided I was contravening SMARTYs "terms and conditions, using the phone for business purposes or sending spam or "smishing". Just 13 texts to addresses in my contacts list ?? Really??6.4KViews0likes12CommentsCreated family group added family then closed account
After being with Smarty for many years, I saw a great opportunity to take advantage of setting up a family group and added my two lads. I have closed my account now and cannot manage my two lads accounts. I need help as I want to upgrade their accounts as they need more data but cannot login to my account to manage them and cannot locate the login details for their accounts 😞1.4KViews0likes3CommentsReinstating my daughter to my group account
My daughter's account is still showing on the dashboard on my group account, but as closed which is correct as she left when she got a new phone with data package. I now want to reinstate her to the group, but do I 'Add an existing Smarty account' or 'Add a new SIM'?575Views0likes1CommentFamily Plan vs New Deal
Not sure if the community can help, but here goes. To add an unlimited SIM for my wife to my family plan will cost £18, but we can get it for £16 if we buy a plan via Compare The Market. Will this account have to be managed separately, or will it be possible to add her to the family plan once she's up and running so I can manage all three SIMs in one place? Presumably she can change to a cheaper plan once she works out what her actual data requirements are? And a second question. Everyone else on my family plan can get double data (2x40GB for £9 with 10% plan discount) but I only get 40GB. Why do they all get double data but not me - I feel ripped off?1.1KViews1like1CommentGroup plan - not able to add new sims
I have been trying to add new sims to a group plan for the last 10 days . I have had no help from customer services chat despite several conversations. Originally I added 3 sims to my account (owner) but every time I get through the payment verification it tries to submit but then comes up as an error to try again or contact customer services. I have activated my sim and the 3 on the group. These are all working fine (plus transfer of old numbers) and are now in use. I have tried everything from clearing the usual browser /cache history etc. Deleted bank details and added them again etc. I have even left trying over the weekend in case there was some kind of glitch/loop but to no avail . I have even phoned my bank twice and obviously there is nothing stopping payments going through. I have also tried to set up another owner account but this doesn't work either. We only have one payment method. I have been extremely disappointed at the lack of technical knowledge on the web chat even when I have had to explain everything several times I am not getting any answers or reasons. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you1.9KViews0likes7CommentsSigned up for new group plan, can I use a sim I was posted already?
I added a new plan to my group and whilst the new SIM will be sent out to me, I wondered if I could use a SIM I already had been sent (new, unused, still in it's envelope)? In the SMARTY dashboard, it says it's waiting for a number, so I guess I cannot do anything right now anyway. But I could save time waiting for the new SIM to arrive, if I can reuse the new SIM I already have. Any thoughts? ThanksSolved829Views0likes1CommentRemove someone from group to own account?
My daughter’s phone is in my group plan. I move this from my group account and set up her own account. When I try to remove it from my group it says she doesn’t have her own account to move it. But I can’t create an account for her unless she orders a sim. But she already has a sim!! And round we go! Why can’t I just set up an account for my daughter first and then move her number/plan to it? Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I’ve emailed Smarty many times and I never get a response from them. 😕766Views0likes1Comment
