Adult content blocked on mobile data...
... But comes through on WiFi. Adult content filter is set to off in the app, and when I authorise the £1 payment to verify I'm over 18, the app gives a failed transaction message yet my bank notifies me it's gone through? Any ideas? I've cleared the cache in the app and re-booted the phone.Solved44KViews5likes30Comments18+ Content - enabled but cannot access
SIM 1 - this is in my Android cellphone SIM 2 - this is in my home 5G router, unlimited data BOTH SIM 1 and 2 had their 18+ Content ENABLED on 14/6/23 after submitted my photo ID as requested by Smarty. Everything have been working fine with no issues since that date, whether browsing on my cellphone at home accessing online via the 5G router (e.g SIM 2) or when I'm away from home (e.g SIM 1) Sun 13/8/23 - Access online to 18+ Content on my cellphone at home (e.g. SIM 2) came up with the blank page: The connection for this site is not secure www. <webpage name> .com sent an invalid response ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR [REFRESH] Tried on the laptop (connected to home 5G router), it was the same message. Browser then took me to the three.co.uk's url after I'd closed the browser and relaunched and cleared cache and cookies. Three's url says as follows: We’re currently rolling out updates to give you a more satisfying customer experience. As a result, some customers may temporarily have restricted access to some functions online. If you’re having difficulty finding the information you need, get in touch and we’ll help you get to where you need to go. Turn off Wi-Fi. Head to the Adult Filter toggle on your phone. Remember, this won't work on a desktop browser. It'll only work on your phone. You'll need a credit card to verify your age. If you don't have one to hand, just contact us and we'll help. You can also visit a Three store, if that's easier. Once you've done this, just switch your adult filter settings to suit your preferences. Don't worry – you can change this whenever you want. I contacted Smarty Customer Services (SCS), they just regurgitated what I have already done and asked me, for the 2nd time, to submit photo, after going through the security checks of name, postcode, last payment amount etc........ They then replied that the 18+ Content is now enabled, even though it already was on BOTH SIMs. Re started both my devices as mentioned above, still the same issue with no access. Its NOT my 5G home router, that has no parental restriction applied on it and no changes were made to its setting. Explaining the situation to the SCS was painful, they don't seem to understand something so simple so I gave up and trying here. Smarty ADMIN - can one of you please respond, I have wasted a lot of my time, providing screen grabs to help your SCS to understand so they can fix the problem that occurred due to no part from my end.22KViews3likes24CommentsRequiring adults to jump through hoops to prove they are adults, after they create an adult account?
Just a note, honestly cannot find a good thing to say about Smarty right now, help is a joke. I am allowed to create an account, I need to be 18, I need to be 18 to create a group, I need a bank to set up my payments, I have a group, I have four payments on that group set up via my bank, and despite problems such as paying for months for one account that has NEVER received data despite SIM activating, I amd also having problems setting up a fith account for another child. Yet I cannot change restrictions on my account without a credit card, passport, or driving licence, it's 2023 and not every adult has all those things, despite as an adult having three children and creating my account that your happy to take payment from even when providing no service. Just how does that work? You can take money via direct debits on an account that has restrictions on age, being over 18, but we need as adults top jump through hoops to prove we are over 18 despite you taking money based on us being over 18? Do you see just how dumb that is? Tried livechat, useless, so far not one problem I am having is being addressed.5.2KViews2likes5Commentsadult content filter off
To activate the settings i did the card process six times & I thought it was my card or the website. but no, it needs to be a credit card not debit card. SMARTY have taken £6 in activation feels and not refunded it when it states it would be refunded afterwards. When should it be refunded. thanks1.5KViews2likes4CommentsAdult Content - Idea for Smarty Marketing Manager
As we see daily requests for help on how to remove the adult content filter, I had an idea for the Smarty Marketing Department. A new customer can send in a copy of their passport or driving licence, to prove they are over 18. Then, Smarty send them a SIM card with the adult content filter already turned off. Maybe, going one step further, a voucher is sent with the SIM card, to be redeemed for a supply of Kleenex ? As Smarty are based in Reading, maybe a tie up with Waitrose, based in nearby Bracknell, could be arranged ? Just a fapp, er I mean thought.1KViews2likes0Comments- 27KViews1like10Comments
