"archive.org" is blocked. Why?
https://archive.org is blocked. I can't open it in any browser, but can open it using Opera's VPN.
Why is this good website blocked?

Hi everyone,
I couldn’t access archive.org at first, but it turned out to be blocked by the adult content filter. Once I switched that off, full access worked fine. There was a small glitch in the software that stopped me from turning it off myself, so I contacted SMARTY support — they were really helpful and made the change remotely.
All sorted now, so if anyone else can’t reach certain sites, it might be worth checking the filter settings first.

It may currently be experiencing intermittent problems by the looks of it...
EDIT - Explanation here, its due to adult content :

This is insane! https://archive.org is a VERY important website (BTW: it's not down, because I can open it if I use VPN). It hosts thousands of old books and old movies. It's educational. How can it be blocked as if it were a **bleep** website?
Terrible...

NoSpam Following up from the link JJP2 sent, it appears that it is not just Smarty / 3 who have blocked it.
While I am not necessarily saying that there is any problematic content on there, it seems interesting that most UK networks have flagged it as containing adult content. Luckily, you can have that block removed on your account quite easily and then there should be no problem for you.
