3g switch off

Hi All, I have a Samsung S10+ phone which, according to the Specification Sheet, should enable 4G calls (4G VoLTE) to be enabled on my phone. I'm running Android version 12 (also a requirement). Yet the 4G VoLTE option doesn't appear under the Mobile Network settings? Instead it shows 'LTE/3G/2G' as the only option. Does anyone have experience of how to solve this issue please? I've just joined Smarty, which required a new SIM, so it's not that! I have been unable to find any cause for this issue so far... Many Thanks!!! My network does not have good speed, the router I use, stays stable but when I connects with any device it disconnect from the service shows that there is no service. Like some other authority interrupting between my end and the service provider. The device which I use also says no Internet. When I checked Internet in my area by smarty website it shows good internet coverage in the area. How I can make complain so it should be checked. If something wrong with the service or other issues. I tried to find out how to make complain but I did not find any contact of Smarty lphone or chat instead I found FAQ or chatbot. How I can solve this issue.36Views0likes0CommentsCalls not working on my phone with Volte activated (Data works fine)
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some technical advice regarding my Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G on the Smarty network. Since earlier this week, I have been unable to make or receive any phone calls. When I try to dial, I get a "Mobile network not available" error. However, my 4G/5G data is working perfectly at full speed. I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps: Performed a network reset. Verified APN settings are correct (mob.asm.net). Used the *#*#86583#*#* code to disable the VoLTE carrier check. The "VoLTE Provisioned" flag is active in the *#*#4636#*#* menu. Tested the SIM in another phone (it works fine there). It seems my device is struggling to register for IMS/VoLTE on the Three/Smarty infrastructure now that 3G is being phased out in my area. Even though the hardware is fully 5G/VoLTE capable, it isn't "handshaking" correctly with the network for voice services. Has anyone managed to get a Tecno device successfully registered on Smarty's VoLTE? Or is there a way for a moderator to "refresh" the VoLTE flag on my account/IMEI to see if it forces a registration? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’d love to stay with Smarty!Solved344Views0likes3CommentsURGENT: SMARTY is failing now, time to move to ID
Compare Smarty to ID on here: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/ Smarty is honestly terrible. ID offers so much more on the same network for the same price. They offer more data per £, data rollover, more EU countries access, 30GB EU Roaming (18 more than Smarty), e-sim for Watches, 3 months of Apple TV + Music. It is a no-brainer to switch now, Smarty has lost it's game sadly.942Views0likes2Comments4g calling/volte on Smarty's blacklisted phone (Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact)
I'm usig Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (last 5 inch android from Sony) and i think i solved (or it solved itself) the 4g-Volte problem on it. Sony XZ2 phone is on Volte support blacklist at Smarty, so 4g calling should not work, but i didnt want to give up that easy. Before and after "3g switch off" all my calls switched to 3g(H, H+) doesnt matter that internet ran on 4g. So i installed LineageOS, fully rooted the phone, and noticed that Smarty Sim doesn't get network modem configuration, in fact Smarty modem configuration folder doesn't exist at all in this phone. So by using "Root Explorer" app i had to create "S21.4" folder inside "root/vendor/modemconf/" ,then inside it create a file named "modem.conf" which contains "mcfg_sw/generic/euro/hutch/vlvw/uk/mcfg_sw.mbn" line. (Btw i recommended to take sim off or switch to airplane mode before doing this). Restarted the phone and now i can make and receive HD calls, Volte still not showing in the menus, but my calls don't drop to 3g anymore. Data, SMS also works.1.6KViews0likes5CommentsUK SIM not working in Australia
Since arriving in Australia, I've been unable to use my Smarty UK SIM (just required for 2-step banking authentication etc as I have a local SIM for calls, texts and data). The SIM is recognised by my phone and multiple local phone signals are identified but for some reason I can't connect to any of them. The APN is now set to mob.asm.net but the change was made post-arrival in Australia - could this be the source of the problem? I've tried toggling all of the various settings on and off but without success. My local Aussie SIM works fine in my Poco F3 but it stops working when my Smarty UK SIM is added to slot 2 - my Smarty SIM is therefore currently residing in my old Motorola g(8). I was last in Australia in April 2024 and my Smarty SIM was connecting without any issues at that time. In the meantime, the 3G network has been turned off in Australia. I mention this in case it is significant but as the settings on my 2x phones allow me to select 5G (Poco F3) and 4G/LTE (Motorola g(8)), I assume this is not the root cause of the problem. I don't know if it's relevant but I should also note that I was unable to connect to either WiFi or mobile data while on the train to the UK airport. Ideally, a solution to this problem can be found but, if not, what are my options? 1. Smarty could send a replacement SIM to my UK address for a relative to post to Australia (it probably wouldn't arrive until after Christmas) 2. Is it possible sms messages to be forwarded to another number (similar to call forwarding for voice calls)? 3. I could do nothing (not a great option as I'm staying in Australia until after Easter 2025) 4. Are there any other options? All suggestions welcome. My Huawei B311 (4G) router has suddenly started receiving phone calls!
When SMARTY dropped 3G in my area my Huawei B311 router stopped receiving phone calls (and I bought a Tenda N300, which receives OTPs as a string of @s). This morning it is receiving calls. The light on the router turns blue which, AIUI, means it's dropped to 3G. What's going on? Anyone any idea? Anyway, I hope it stays this way. fuzzy. PS. Anyone want to buy a Tenda N300 router, going cheap?3.3KViews0likes9Comments
