Hi MSF, Yes — that’s right, I’m using Wi-Fi Calling specifically because in the Home, or near by streets there’s very little mobile signal. It’s basically unusable on cellular here, so Wi-Fi is the only option. Would be interested if anyone has found a setting or router tweak that helps with that specific delay/cut-off behaviour. Hi all, Has anyone found any tips, tricks, or settings that improve Wi-Fi Calling? So far I have: Turned off Wi-Fi Assist on iPhone (iOS). Updated to the latest router recommended by the network provider. Unfortunately, the experience is exactly the same as with my previous router. I had expected Wi-Fi Calling to be more reliable given that it uses relatively little data. My issue is quite specific: I can hear the other person perfectly, but they often tell me that the first few words I say are cut off, particularly when I start speaking after a pause in the conversation. Hi everyone, I couldn’t access archive.org at first, but it turned out to be blocked by the adult content filter. Once I switched that off, full access worked fine. There was a small glitch in the software that stopped me from turning it off myself, so I contacted SMARTY support — they were really helpful and made the change remotely. I had the same problem with Wi-Fi Calling a while back — turns out the fix was simple. On iPhone, go to Settings → General → About, and you should get a prompt for a Network Provider Settings Update. Do the update, restart your phone, and Wi-Fi Calling should come back straight away. Also, just a heads-up — switching to Vodafone won’t really take you far. Hello John, The way I’d approach the issue is by eliminating the likely causes one by one. A simple question to start: Before the iPhone 15, did you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and working Wi-Fi calling? Presumably this isn’t your first phone. If Wi-Fi calling was working on your previous phone, then the issue is likely within the settings on the iPhone 15. If your previous phone was also an iPhone and on Smarty, try this: Sit both phones side by side, and go into Settings > Mobile Service on each. Compare them — make sure Wi-Fi Calling is enabled and Mobile Data is set up correctly on the new device. Does anyone know how to make contact with Smarty other than chat box? Day 4 of plenty of signal. However not able to make calls or maintain data signal. I have looked at my postcode area. “We're working on the network in this area at the moment. We're sorry for any disruption this may be causing. Hi gang, my wifi calling stopped working in our home. Since approx 5th of June 2025. (I been using wifi calling past 5 months from home with Smarty no issues) I have chatted with Smarty team, the experience was ok actually worked for me. They replied with "To summarise, we’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps and updated the APN settings. Unfortunately, this hasn’t resolved the issue. Therefore, I’ve raised a case on your behalf for further investigation." I then called a friend who has no reception in their home, has a Smarty sim, he tried WiFi calling. Guess what he said it's not working it did before. Is there a theme here ? The only change recently is this 31st May Three UK recently merged with Vodafone UK, forming a new company called VodafoneThree. This merger was completed on May 31, 2025, according to Vodafone.
