Good morning Smarty people,
I am not particularly familiar with the terms used for these devices, so please make allowances…
I have bought a mobile internet router. It is a ZTE MF286D and it is a 3G/4G router. I inserted a Smarty SIM into it. All is well regarding normal use of wifi and connecting to t’interWeb. It has a slot on the back labelled ‘phone’, and sure enough the user guide says I can connect a wired (home) phone to this slot. I did just that and now I get a dialling tone of sorts, and I am able to disl out BUT…the call lasts only a few seconds before it is terminated. I can dial in to the Smarty (ZTE MF286D) router from another phone and the ‘home’ phone rings, answers, and performs as normal for as long as I wish.
The problem seems only to occur when dialing out. The manufacturer suggests this may be a service prevented by Smarty. Is this so and, if true, how do I turn on this ‘dialing out’ service?
Regards, P
