Switch from Data Only to Data + Calls

HELP - Old data only SIM stopping me moving main phone to Smarty

I have an old data only SIM I use to use in a mobile Router, which is currently does not have an active payment. I would like to switch my main phone to Smarty, but cannot fine a way to do it.  The problems are:

  1. With my old sim, I cannot select a data + calls option to renew the SIM and put it in my phone, this would be the simplest solution. I don't need this data only SIM anymore once I have switch my main phone to Smarty.
  2. I have a spare new SIM, but cannot add it to my  account, yes there is the 'group' option, but I need to remove the old data SIM  from my account as I don't need it any more, and so it would not be a group.
  3. No way I can delete the account associated with the old SIM and start again with the new SIM.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my main phone on to smarty ?

Thanks

Unfortunately this reply was not as helpful as I hoped. Talking to Support, they can only change the SIM on at the next renewal date. Since my account was suspended, I had to reactivate the account, as data only, and then I was told I would have to wait 30 days until it could be changed to a Data + Call SIM.  Luckily I only reactivated at a minimum payment.

So it appears that Smarty CANNOT effectively convert a data only SIM to data + Calls.

I am hoping Support can cancel my account, and maybe I will try the spare SIM

Thank you for the advice particularly about not using the spare, I will try and contact Smarty Support.

MarkWal_2873962 You need to web chat with Smarty Support so that they can re-provision your existing sim remotely to accept calls as well as data.

Don't try using a spare or anything else - although it does sound like a good idea, it won't work.

Once they have made the change, your sim will be a 'normal' one and can be used to access calls, texts and data in your main phone.
