It’s always a great feeling when you discover a new way of doing something that makes it so much easier, or better yet, when you learn something entirely new that only takes a small effort but can make a huge difference to your everyday life. With our new promotional campaign focusing on the theme of “less malarkey”, we thought it would be great to hear the life hacks that help you to cut through the malarkey of everyday life and keep things simple! I saw one suggestion online recently that I’m thinking I might give a try. I’ve recently been thinking of buying a dashcam, given I live in a busy town center with lots of areas that can be difficult to get around. The cheapest I’ve seen online have been around £35. However, the suggested life hack I’d recently seen was to use an old phone instead. I bought a new phone last year and since then, as many old phones do, mine has been kept away in a drawer most of the time. It’s a mid range phone from 2018 and its battery has declined quite a lot over the years, so I’ve been unsure about giving it away or selling it - but now I know of another option. I have a car charger and USB cable that should solve the battery problem. Given all my pictures and videos on the device are automatically uploaded to Google Photos, storage won’t be an issue either. Plus, the camera is still more than good enough – so all I need is a phone holder. I’ve seen these can be bought for around £10, so using my old phone instead of buying a dashcam could also save me a nice £25. It's a simple idea, but could provide an effective solution to a couple of problems. With that being said, what are your go-to life hacks that are simple to do but give big benefits?6.9KViews2likes7CommentsUNPAUSE PLAN
Hello, My new plan is paused even though I paid for it. I contacted Smarty but the only advice they gave me was to activate my sim from the dashboard. However there is no activation button whatsoever. The only message is as follows: "Your plan is paused We’ve paused your service. Please get in touch via chat with our support team who will be able to help." However the support team keeps repeating that I should activate my sim... !!! They do not seem to understand that I CANNOT do it and that THEY should unpause my plan. It's crazy !!! Any idea to unblock this vicious circle ???3.8KViews1like4CommentsHuawei H112-370 5G cannot connect to internet
Hi, I had previously been successful in connecting to the internet at home using a Smarty sim in a Huawei H112-370 5G router. I have been out of the country recently for several months however, during which I suspended use of the Smarty sim since I didn't want to pay the Smarty monthly fee unnecessaily for home internet service while I was away. On my return to the UK yesterday, I immediately renewed the Smarty sim online and I have verified (using a mobile phone) that both voice calls and mobile data are working fine on the sim card. I did that to make sure that the sim itself has not been deactivated yet due to long periods of inactivity. When I popped this sim back into the Huawei 5G router however, I discovered that I can no longer connect to the internet, even though I am getting green lights on the router for both 4G and 5G signals. I have verified that there has been no disruption to 4G or 5G signal coverage in my area. I have also tried rebooting the router several times. Still no internet connection. Can anyone else using a Huawei H112-370 5G router with a Smarty sim confirm that they can still access the internet or is this a policy change (I hope not !) to no longer support Huawei routers ?2KViews0likes3CommentsConstantly in H+ when out and about
Hey! I am liking the SMARTY network, I actually returned. However, I bought an Honor Magic4 Lite 5G and I do not get any 4G coverage that often in a majority of the areas I go to and from, I'm based in the West Midlands. I get a constant 5G signal at home but when I go out and about I only get around 3G or sometimes unusable 4G. I've tried device restarts, SIM card reinsert and everything.1.7KViews0likes0Comments
