I am with Smarty for as long as I can remember, was generally ok with the data speeds I was getting, but just over an year ago I was given a work phone which is on EE network, and during this period for a like for like usage I came to realise that Smarty data speeds are just rubbish. I am on the iPhone 17 pro vs work phone which is a iPhone 15. There have been times when I have to use work hotspot to get reliable data when I really needed it. On Monday night, I was out and about, in Central London in what was a very centrally located restaurant and I could not even get a simple web page loaded. I am going to lodge a complaint but is Smarty network just pants? I know it is cheaper than some providers but it should work in all central areas of the city. Do you notice this too? Is Smarty doing anything to address this?156Views0likes4CommentsUnable to get IPv6 address
I’m seeing mixed information on whether SMARTY/Three provides IPv6, so I’m hoping someone can clarify. I’m using a 4G/LTE router (not a phone). The router supports IPv6 and is configured for dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6) with IPv6 auto-config enabled, and I’ve also tried requesting prefix delegation. The SIM connects fine for IPv4, but the WAN interface only ever shows a link-local IPv6 address (fe80::…), never a global IPv6 address or delegated prefix. APN in use is three.co.uk. Does SMARTY currently provide IPv6 for data connections, and if so: is it available on all plans/SIMs, or only certain ones? is there a specific APN or setting required to get IPv6 working on routers? do you support IPv6 prefix delegation for LTE routers? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks in advance.6Views0likes0CommentsJoining up with the Vodafone network
I recently read that the Smarty/Three network will join up with the Vodafone network and switch between the two depending on which signal is stronger. This is great news as I've had bad reception in my area. After doing some research on https://bidb.uk/ it shows that the Vodafone network is the best in my area and covers most places I go to such as work. Will we get any messages when this will done in my area?64Views0likes0CommentsWiFi calling not working in iPhones
I moved my whole family to Smarty a few months ago, and calls failed for all of us seemingly randomly - until we realized that it was whenever the call was trying to be made or received over WiFi (we all had WiFi calling enabled, as reception in some areas at home/work isn't great). Never had an issue before with different carriers, and our iPhones are all clearly marked as supporting WiFi calling on Smarty (per https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/4237414-which-devices-are-compatible-with-wifi-calling). We've spent hours on the phone with Smarty, and received zero valuable help (we were told to reboot / reset our phones, and even went as far as completely wiping and resetting some of the phones). One of us even got a new phone iPhone, and it didn't solve the WiFi calling issue. The carrier profile is "Three 66.0", so it seems up-to-date too. Anyone else having issues on iPhones? Smarty support seems completely out of their depth - the reps I spoke to could only repeat that we should reset our network settings repeatedly, blamed the problem on Apple, and weren't even aware that some of the settings were set through their carrier profile file...151Views0likes2Comments15DEC2025 Network is Down in NW London
Hi, is anyone else suffering from No Registration/Network issues in and around London? Why doesn't smarty inform us about this? I found out through other websites as Smarty doesn't make it easy on theirs. It's been four days Friday 12th to current and that's too long without service. What shall I about this inconvenience ?25Views0likes1CommentDay 2 of no service from Smarty
Despite Smarty having taken the fee for the provision of a mobile phone service, day two sees me with my account still paused. This means I can make or receive no phone calls, no texts to other than iPhone users and no effective phone service. This is now becomeing very serious. I have made a formal complaint twice, copies of that complaint emailed to Smarty customer service and complaints in previous posting. Being disabled makes this a living nightmare. My sister has visited me this morning as her usual phone call to me could not be connected. Smarty customer service 'chat' seems incapable of assisting. They offered me a phone number to call but I cannot make phone calls! I seriously wonder whether now is the time to seek assistance in closing down my account with Smarty and going with a proper service provider.31Views0likes0CommentsNetwork faults
Smarty have been fixing a fault in L3 5SA LIVERPOOL for the past 11 months, signal is terrible with either no service and dropped calls, in this area it’s not possible to use the Vodafone network yet according to smarty and internet wise the 4G drops too. Does smarty always take this long to fix Network faults ? They obviously know about it as it pops up on smarty’s network checker.25Views0likes0Comments
