For the past two days my phone is not registering my sim card onto the network in Falmouth? Service status just keeps saying there is a signifigant issue in the area and will be fixed as soon as possible! Not exactly the reliable service I was expecting and the info is vague. If anyone has any idea what the issue is and a ETA on a fix I would be most grateful. Oddly I get full bar signal.....so it is not a signal issue.....and looking at the data returned from the handshake it seems my Smarty Sim is failing authorisation? Thankfully I have access to wifi calling at home, however I would like to know what the issue is and when it will be resolved by.15Views0likes1CommentNumber not Change on iPhone after port
Hi everyone, I am at my wits end - my partner and I recently switched to SMARTY and chose to keep our old numbers. We have had notification that the port was successful and our old numbers have transferred however within ‘Phone’ in iPhone settings our number is still showing as the temporary number provided by SMARTY. This is similar in FaceTime and iMessage and our current number (original number we kept) has disappeared. I have read numerous threads and tried the following but am now at a loss of what else to try: - Turning off iMessage and FaceTime and doing a network reset, waiting and restarting the phone. - Trying to change the number in ‘Phone’ Any help massively appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻3KViews0likes8CommentsSudden "Not Registered On Network" (after 1.5 years) - but only with SMARTY SIMs
Summary - after 1.5 years, "Not Registered On Network" situation with a particular phone and ANY SMARTY SIMs (but Vodafone SIM works perfectly). Phone: Samsung S22 Ultra 5G, owned and used it for the last 2.5 years SIM: SMARTY - used for the last 1.5 years (we have 3 SMARTY sims in the household) On Friday, the phone suddenly started presenting "Not Registered On Network" message (and hence unable to make/receive calls/SMS/mobile network. The phone shows as connected to network (4 bars) and allows me to make emergency calls. SIM is recognised - it has its details shown. The same SIM works in other phones. Other SMARTY SIMs are NO LONGER working on this phone. However, my company SIM (vodafone) DOES work in this phone. IMEI check shows as CLEAN. Eg the problem is the combination of THIS particular phone and SMARTY SIM. All the usual troubleshooting (restarts, cleanup, etc) to no avail. Talked to SMARTY tech support without success - basically "your account is current, your SIM works in other phones, so not our problem". Talked to Samsung tech support - "phone is fine, SIM is fine, your network operator refuses to register it on the network for some reason - talk to them" Tried to talk to Three, but since I am not a direct customer of them - they are not interested. Could SMARTY - which presumably has better relationship with Three, help in some way?50Views0likes2Comments4g calling/volte on Smarty's blacklisted phone (Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact)
I'm usig Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (last 5 inch android from Sony) and i think i solved (or it solved itself) the 4g-Volte problem on it. Sony XZ2 phone is on Volte support blacklist at Smarty, so 4g calling should not work, but i didnt want to give up that easy. Before and after "3g switch off" all my calls switched to 3g(H, H+) doesnt matter that internet ran on 4g. So i installed LineageOS, fully rooted the phone, and noticed that Smarty Sim doesn't get network modem configuration, in fact Smarty modem configuration folder doesn't exist at all in this phone. So by using "Root Explorer" app i had to create "S21.4" folder inside "root/vendor/modemconf/" ,then inside it create a file named "modem.conf" which contains "mcfg_sw/generic/euro/hutch/vlvw/uk/mcfg_sw.mbn" line. (Btw i recommended to take sim off or switch to airplane mode before doing this). Restarted the phone and now i can make and receive HD calls, Volte still not showing in the menus, but my calls don't drop to 3g anymore. Data, SMS also works.1.6KViews0likes5CommentsCalls not working on my phone with Volte activated (Data works fine)
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some technical advice regarding my Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G on the Smarty network. Since earlier this week, I have been unable to make or receive any phone calls. When I try to dial, I get a "Mobile network not available" error. However, my 4G/5G data is working perfectly at full speed. I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps: Performed a network reset. Verified APN settings are correct (mob.asm.net). Used the *#*#86583#*#* code to disable the VoLTE carrier check. The "VoLTE Provisioned" flag is active in the *#*#4636#*#* menu. Tested the SIM in another phone (it works fine there). It seems my device is struggling to register for IMS/VoLTE on the Three/Smarty infrastructure now that 3G is being phased out in my area. Even though the hardware is fully 5G/VoLTE capable, it isn't "handshaking" correctly with the network for voice services. Has anyone managed to get a Tecno device successfully registered on Smarty's VoLTE? Or is there a way for a moderator to "refresh" the VoLTE flag on my account/IMEI to see if it forces a registration? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’d love to stay with Smarty!Solved97Views0likes3CommentsACCESS POINT NAMES - worth tweaking mine for some improvements? (Samsung S23)
Hi. Over the last couple of days, mobile data signal is flickering to none existence, and signal is very poor. I rely completely on using mobile data as I have no WiFi at home. All was fine until I did a Samsung update on Sunday and now the phone is behaving like it's on 2g mostly, or 3g at the very best. I'm stabbing in the dark here, as the update can't be rolled back, but I wondered if editing phone access point names could help? I can see that Smarty's recommended settings are these: Android General APN settings (Android): Name: 3 APN: mob.asm.net User name: [leave this field blank] Password: [leave this field blank] MMSC: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc MMS proxy: mms.three.co.uk MMS port: 8799 APN type: [leave this field blank] My current settings are the same except for: Name: Smarty internet APN type: default.supl.mms.xcap Plus I have a whole host of others in the settings list that can be tweaked, but Smarty doesn't state them. I've done the usual.. restarted phone / switched in and out of flight mode / and wiped the cache partition after the update. Any thoughts on how improve things even just a little somehow please? Thank you31Views0likes0CommentsJoining up with the Vodafone network
I recently read that the Smarty/Three network will join up with the Vodafone network and switch between the two depending on which signal is stronger. This is great news as I've had bad reception in my area. After doing some research on https://bidb.uk/ it shows that the Vodafone network is the best in my area and covers most places I go to such as work. Will we get any messages when this will done in my area?136Views0likes1Comment
