Can anyone tell me why I constantly have Service Status: Out of Service? I am a new Smarty Customer. In 23 days I have only been able to use my phone twice. This is on the same day as contacting Smarty. Everything works perfectly fine but the next day Service Status is back to Out of Service. Data is working very well so far. No problem there. It's like the phone sees the Network but is not authorised to use it. I cannot access my online banking as the code that is sent to SMS is not sent. I cannot call anyone nor can they call me. I have already missed 3 appointments because of this. I need to make a hospital appointment and can not do it. I am paying for an unlimited plan but only getting data access. I have been on live chat for hours trying to get a positive outcome. Although helpful and polite. Each Agent goes through the same series of things to do but it makes no difference. I can make WhatsApp calls but certain companies will only accept calling me on my mobile number which they cannot do. Please if anyone knows how to contact Smarty Technical Team or how to solve this I would be so greatful. My next payment is in 5 days time and after nearly a month. Sadly, I am back again. Still having problems staying connected to the Network so that I can make receive calls etc. Is there a reason for this? Why can't I stay connected to the Network??? Now on day 22... Only had two days where I could make calls, receive call and get text including short codes. Now the Service Status is back to Out of Service. I am trying to be patient but it's not really fair to be paying for Unlimited data, calls and text and only get service for 2 days out of 22. My Smarty SIM shows full signal but Service State says “Out of Service.” I cannot make or receive calls or texts. I have been back and forth with Agents. Although polite and helpful they cannot solve my problem. My SIM number is 8944200205748063009 APN is mob.asm.net. Network Status: SMARTY Mobile Network Type: 4G Service Status: In Service - Was saying Out of Service Mobile Network Status: Disconnected I have reset network settings and tried manually selecting network. Activated my new Smarty SIM yesterday and I notice that the mobile number in the Dashboard is not the same as I requested (i.e. I sent a PAC code to Smarty with the details). However even though the number displayed is not mine all my old services seem (?) to be working. When my wife calls my new Smarty number to test it out there is no connection but my old number (from vodafone) still works. For the past two days my phone is not registering my sim card onto the network in Falmouth? Service status just keeps saying there is a signifigant issue in the area and will be fixed as soon as possible! Not exactly the reliable service I was expecting and the info is vague. If anyone has any idea what the issue is and a ETA on a fix I would be most grateful. Oddly I get full bar signal.....so it is not a signal issue.....and looking at the data returned from the handshake it seems my Smarty Sim is failing authorisation? Hello, please help!!! I don't make calls very often so thought it was a service issue but I have good signal and 4G, and texts come through fine. Sometimes I can receive calls but I have had SMARTY since September 2025 and haven't been able to make any. I don't use whatsapp or instagram or anything on this phone, only texts and calls (well receive them as I can't make them). I also use the safari app but it's been very temperamental and I thought perhaps because I have an old phone (iPhone 5S) but surely calls would work?! And I have 4G?! When I try to call mobile or landline numbers, and even voicemail, it comes up that it is calling but then is silent with no beeps or anything and doesn't go through. I have voicemails that I can't listen to and need to ring the doctors but I can't!!! I'm usig Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (last 5 inch android from Sony) and i think i solved (or it solved itself) the 4g-Volte problem on it. Sony XZ2 phone is on Volte support blacklist at Smarty, so 4g calling should not work, but i didnt want to give up that easy. Before and after "3g switch off" all my calls switched to 3g(H, H+) doesnt matter that internet ran on 4g. So i installed LineageOS, fully rooted the phone, and noticed that Smarty Sim doesn't get network modem configuration, in fact Smarty modem configuration folder doesn't exist at all in this phone. So by using "Root Explorer" app i had to create "S21.4" folder inside "root/vendor/modemconf/" ,then inside it create a file named "modem.conf" which contains "mcfg_sw/generic/euro/hutch/vlvw/uk/mcfg_sw.mbn" line. (Btw i recommended to take sim off or switch to airplane mode before doing this). Restarted the phone and now i can make and receive HD calls, Volte still not showing in the menus, but my calls don't drop to 3g anymore. Data, SMS also works.1.6KViews0likes5Comments
