Re activating my sons's account

Hi there. My sons account seems to have closed though we didn't realise this as he's usually connected to wifi. Is there a way to reactivate his account in order to give him data or do I need to apply for a new SIM for him? If the latter can he transfer his existing number easily? Thanks.

If no payment has been made for your sons account for 6 month (220 days) the plan will have been automatically cancelled. We may be able to recover your sons number but I cannot grantee this.  For more account specific advice please contact our customer care team https://smarty.co.uk/contact available daily from 8am โ€“ 8pm.

If payments were being made you can activate your sons account by making a payment, here is a guide to help. https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/952717-updating-your-payment-method

Thanks - so what should I do? He still seems to be using the same number on WhatsApp etc so hopefully it can be recovered if I start a new plan for him? I'll order him a new sim and see where we get to...

@George1980 I would rely on advice from @Rebekah_150  rather than try a new sim.

A WhatsApp account uses the mobile number rather like a username as far as I'm aware - it does not mean that the number works on the sim.

Many thanks. Still unsure on what to do. I canโ€™t reactivate the account so seems a new sim is the only way? If they canโ€™t reinstall the number then I guess heโ€™ll just need to accept a new numberโ€ฆ
