Unable to phone uk landline from Australia. I have an out of plan add on but calls just fail.
Turns out smarty doesn’t work in Australia with (some?) apple phones. It’s apples fault apparently but would be nice if they (Smarty) could flag this up before people travel. I had to get an Aus sim and have 9 weeks where I can’t be contacted on my UK number (calls or texts).

PhilipJ_1446617 Did you check that your Account shows sufficient add-on credit? You will need 50p per minute to phone the UK from Oz.
Have you also checked that you are somewhere with a decent signal form an Oz network?
Yes - I added a top up so plenty of credit and have signal (tried all three providers) but not working.
PhilipJ_1446617 Are you by any chance calling a 'corporate' type of landline number?
A number of us have had problems in connecting with these. I wonder if it is due to the call going from mobile to landline to a number that uses internet telephony. In your case, it is probably doing an extra hop from Oz mobile through to UK mobile I imagine.
