What is the best 4G Router for SMARTY
Just because mobile data used for WiFi works well in your flat, doesn't mean it is universally good.
It's just like mobile phone signal, where in some areas, at some times, the connectivity can be perfect, BUT somebody on a different network can be standing next to you with no signal or at best very poor signal.
Alternately, return to the same area at a different time, you'll struggle to make a phone call.
Ok well I didn't ask about reliability of mobile networks but thanks anyway

A SMARTY SIM card will usually work in a mobile broadband router / mifi unit.
HOWEVER, remember that SMARTY don't support their SIM cards when used in these kinds of device.
This means that if you ever experience any issues or problems, receiving help from Smarty may be difficult, as they don't have a telephone support helpline.
*Furthermore, the SMARTY terms and conditions (section 5.15 & 5.16) state that you must not use their service as a replacement for a home broadband connection.*

I have been using a Smarty Sim in my Huawei B525 4G router for 4 years now which works fine for my needs and I could also plug an analogue phone into the RJ11 port on the back to make calls until 3G was switced off. Looking at getting a TP-Link MR6599v next to make use of the calls again.

Have been using a Smarty SIM in my D-Link DWR-978 Rev A1 for two months now. Every 4-5 hours it fails to perform DNS requests. The quickest way to fix this is to disconnect from the mobile network and then connect again. It will only connect as 3G / LTE despite the SIM being 5G. Did you have any of these issues with your Huawei B525 4G router?

As someone who has used a Smarty sim in a Huawei B525 4G router for 4 years now I can say it works fine for my needs and I could make calls from an analogue phone plugged into the RJ11 phone port on the back until 3G was switched off. I'm looking at getting a TP-link MR6500v next which you can also connect a standard phone too.

As far mobile data reliability goes, READ the Smarty T&C's, but don't complain about lack of reliability because of your own choices.
