No network calling

In the past week all network calling and messaging in or out has stopped functioning. WiFi system (WhatsApp) remains. My SIM was in an old LG phone but 4G was enabled as was LTE. I have now put the SIM in a new Samsung Galaxy a17 4g phone and the same thing is happening. The SIM manager in settings shows SIM calls and messaging is off with no option to turn on. All worked until about a week ago on my old phone. New phone is set to 4g and LTE. SMARTY is showing some network issues when I enter my postcode however. Help!

Louis, thanks for directing me to the official chat page. After a long website chat ( a couple of hours) with some excellent technical advice from Sarfaraz I was able to follow his directions which eventually entailed resetting the phone's SIM settings. This did the trick and a rebooting of the phone then sorted out my issues. It was not simple for a non techie like me but it is now sorted so thanks all round. I don't know how older people would cope with such things however.

    Hi DerekCo_3325890

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details of what’s been happening. We’re really sorry to hear you’ve been unable to make or receive calls and texts recently—we know how frustrating that must be.

From what you’ve described, this could be related to VoLTE (4G Calling) not being enabled on your account or device, which is needed for calls to work on 4G-only handsets. There may also be a temporary network issue in your area, as you’ve noticed.

We’d love to get this sorted for you as quickly as possible. Please get in touch with our customer support team via chat at http://www.smarty.co.uk/contact so we can check your account settings, confirm if VoLTE is active, and investigate any local network issues affecting you.

Thanks for flagging this—we’ll do everything we can to help.

    Best wishes,

    Louis
