To be clear, Smarty don't blacklist any particular models of phone, the issue is that particular models of phone don't have the relevent configuration details to work correctly with Smarty's VoLTE. What you have done is installed an OS that has that relevent configuration details (presumably alongside configuration details for many other networks) and you've set the phone to use that specific configuration.
Well done again. And I completely understand you wanting to hold onto your small phone.. it'll be a sad day when I have to let my iPhone 12 Mini go! 👊
