Cannot make a new Google account

So i'm trying to make a new Google account, but cannot proceed as i get stuck at the verification process.

As in i can't send the text that is linked with the QR code from my phone. I'm guessing this is a network problem, as i can't enter TV competitions either with those short text codes they use.

Is there a solution to this or no, if not then i will have to change networks and leave Smarty.

Thanks

    Thanks for replying,

What the exact problem is, i'm on my PC trying to make a new Google account, and so after making the email name and password, a QR code comes up to progress and verify.

So i scan with my Iphone, it generates a text message, but i it won't send. I just get a message in red saying Not Delivered.

MichaelPh_88902 I have just tried this by attempting to create a new account. The text is sent via an ordinary 07xxxxxxxxx type of number so not sure why there has been an issue EXCEPT, in my case, it said that my number had been used too many times. I guess they mean that I have enough gmail accounts?

MichaelPh_88902 Do you have add on credit to pay for the short code messages that you want to send?

You can check the price of each one here:

    https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/10364848-a-quick-guide-to-shortcodes

Particularly for competitions, you will need credit to pay for those messages (plus any costs of entry in the competition)

When you start a Google account using the 'standard' method, don't they send you a code via sms from a short code number for you to input on screen? Wouldn't that do away with needing to send a short code sms yourself?

I think most of the networks will charge for this type of short code sms....unless anyone can suggest otherwise?
