Are you going to change to one of the new plans? What do you think of them? Comment below.19KViews18likes19CommentsWhat is the best 4G Router for SMARTY
So my parents live in an area with no 5G and they don't want to keep using VM or keep increasing the price every year. They also want to keep unlimited data and have unlimited calls so I assume they can use an unlocked Huawei B311 router but how old is this router and are there any alternatives? perhaps one with a mesh wifi? Thanks Paul18KViews0likes9CommentsIs congestion common on SMARTY 4g network?
I've just joined the unlimited data SIM plan as I'm looking to buy a 4g router to use as a home broadband through tethering. I've plugged the SIM into my phone for now to test the connectivity, but the 4g seems inconsistent and is dropping out occasionally, leaving me with only H+. Hotspotting from my phone to my laptop is also looking inconsistent, with connection to the hotspot wifi dropping in and out. Looks like I'm getting a max of 15mbps download speed when it is actually able to stay connected. Customer support chat said there was congestion in my area and that was the reason for connectivity issues. They said engineers are aware and working on it. Question is, is this going to be a consistent problem? As if I'm planning on using the SIM for home broadband the poor connection is obviously unsuitable.12KViews1like15Comments£18 Unlimited data sim
I am trying to order an £18 unlimited data sim from my dashboard and when I click the view plans and select the unlimited, I end up at my dsashboard with no notification that my sim order has gone through. No email has been sent to state I have ordered the sim so I can only assume the sim has not been ordered. I am in touch with Help but they are not reading the email properly and have just sent me a link to buy the sim, but then it does not buy or send an email to say I have purchased. Any help would be appreciatedSolved11KViews0likes18CommentsUsing a SMARTY SIM for home broadband. Can't log in to my Three account on any device when connected
I use a SMARTY data only SIM card in a wireless router to give me my home broadband and wifi connection. It all works brilliantly except for one thing: One of my mobile phones is on Three (pay as you go). I have realised that when my laptop, phone, or any device at all is connected to my SMARTY internet connection, I simply CAN NOT log in to my Three account! This caused weeks of grief, as I am going abroad shortly and needed to top-up my Three SIM card. After a long conversation with Three help chat, we figured out that the problem is I can't log in to my Three account if the device I am using is online using my SMARTY connection. In the end I had to hot-spot a connection using my daughter's GiffGaff phone, at which point I could log in to my Three account with no problems whatsoever. Does anybody have any idea why this is a problem? It's seems doubly strange, given that SMARTY run on Three. Now when I need to top up my Three phone if I've completely run out of data, I need to connect to the internet using another source. Any source but SMARTY as far as I can tell! Hope somebody can clear this up and perhaos offer a fix for this issue. Many thanks.11KViews0likes6CommentsSIM Card activated but no data
Hi. I've just signed up for the smarty unlimited data/calls/text 1 month plan. I've received an email and text saying it's activated and my phone says I'm on the smarty network and I have a full signal but I have no mobile data to access the internet. I've inserted my Giffgaff SIM card and the mobile data works fine with that. It's a bit annoying because I've just paid for this service yet I'm not receiving what I paid for. Does it take mobile data longer to activate even though the messages I received say the card is activated?11KViews5likes9CommentsData usage
I have just transferred over from Three. I realise Smarty is owned by Hutchinson who own Three but as a Three customer my data usage was around 1.5gb per day on mobile data. I have not changed my habits, still the same but the mobile data usage on Smarty has increased to 3-4 gb per day. Why is this as at the moment I'm not impressed?9.8KViews1like17CommentsNo Internet - TP Link Router
Hi all - purchased a Smarty Sim on data only plan to put in a TP Link router for use in our caravan, but Internet is not working. Any suggestions on how to resolve? All help I've seen gives solutions for phones, not stand alone routers. Thank you8.9KViews0likes12Comments
