no option for 4G in settings so missing calls! Help please!
New to Smarty after 20+ years with O2. Finding I am missing calls when at home which I only know as I get a text to say there is a voicemail. Smarty is supposed to be best on 4G in my area (NE3 5BR) but when I go into mobile networks, VoLTE calls SIM 1 is ticked then Network Mode shows "5G/LTE/3G/2G(auto connect)" - no mention of 4G so how do I get it on 4G signal?831Views0likes1CommentWhat is going on with SMARTY 4G bandwidth?
So we live in Perranporth in sight of the mobile mast. There's usually a slight dip in 4G bandwidth during the tourist season but nothing significant. Since about April though the SMARTY 4G bandwidth has become progressively worse and is reaching the point of un-usability (the other half says we should swap providers). To illustrate the issue, currently both our mobs have a strong 4G signal and yet the SMARTY login page took 45 seconds to load. I'm on an unlimited plan, my wife on 100GB. So what is going on? Are THREE MOBILE restricting SMARTY customer bandwidth? Is the THREE MOBILE network failing? The SMARTY network status checking reports no issues.3.2KViews0likes6CommentsStrong 4g Signal - Poor Download Speeds
I recently activated a unlimited data only plan sim, which I’m using in a Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi 2 hub. The 4g signal strength is max bars but the download speed is often between 0 to 6m, although upload often far better at 10 to 15m (if only it was the other way round!). 22:30 last night I was getting 25mb download and very stable for the rest of the night. But in the morning back to flakey speeds of no internet connection to 2 to 8m. My question is - do Smarty deprioritise unlimited plans placing them at the bottom of the connection priority? Thanks for any help - Dave…20KViews2likes20Comments4g and 5g Not available
I have moved address in last 4 days, before the moved I was getting speeds of 200MB to 400 MB a second in city center where I lived. I have only moved half a mile away and now I cant get even 1bar of 4g or 5g. Download speeds are 1MB a second uploads are 0.25. There are occassions where 4g kicks in in 2bars and on times 5g kicks in but isnt the speeds typical of 5g. I have been in touch with support but stated theres unplanned work. When i check the network status for my area theres no reported issues. I downloaded OpenSignal to show what mast I connect to moving around the house causes me to cinnect to two masts of which are bith under a mile away. As I am typing this i noticed the 4g come in then 4g+ with 5g two bars then goes off again. I have checked signal quality ir strengtg in the phone, about status info, sim card status and shiws _110 dBm 32 asu whatever that is. I noticed with this screen open it flips to Nr Nsa when 5g kicks in, and lte on 4g data type. PHONE CALLS ARW ALWAYS Lte. Would it be worth me getting a mobile phone signal booster which goes outside and brings a stronger 5g signal inside or is this a simple issue with the masts and wait. Cheers.8.4KViews0likes18CommentsDownload speed useless
Coverage checks state "very good 4G" but download speed less than 1 Mb/s !! No change during 10 days of trying all known measures to improve. Dual band TP-Link MR500 AC1200 data SIM router shows all lights and 2 bars (of 3 max), LTE 4G+ Cat6 with combining dual band signals has potential of 300Mb/s. But so far Emails only; Ages to load anything! iPlayer impossible; YouTube buffers continuously. Spent over £100 on router and £20pm to Smarty for unlimited data!! Desperate to find solution as dependent on working Internet. No other Internet solutions at a Park Home. Please HELP!?Solved12KViews5likes15CommentsIs congestion common on SMARTY 4g network?
I've just joined the unlimited data SIM plan as I'm looking to buy a 4g router to use as a home broadband through tethering. I've plugged the SIM into my phone for now to test the connectivity, but the 4g seems inconsistent and is dropping out occasionally, leaving me with only H+. Hotspotting from my phone to my laptop is also looking inconsistent, with connection to the hotspot wifi dropping in and out. Looks like I'm getting a max of 15mbps download speed when it is actually able to stay connected. Customer support chat said there was congestion in my area and that was the reason for connectivity issues. They said engineers are aware and working on it. Question is, is this going to be a consistent problem? As if I'm planning on using the SIM for home broadband the poor connection is obviously unsuitable.12KViews1like15Comments5g connection
My device is not listed on the phone 5g supported devices list in help and support. I own a Nokia g50 which can do 5G connection. As this network piggybacks on the three network, I used a similar priced network "ID" but only got a 4G connection. Does anyone have the same phone or a 5G enabled device that has connected to the 5G on smarty? because I really want to join this network again.Solved14KViews0likes13CommentsConstantly in H+ when out and about
Hey! I am liking the SMARTY network, I actually returned. However, I bought an Honor Magic4 Lite 5G and I do not get any 4G coverage that often in a majority of the areas I go to and from, I'm based in the West Midlands. I get a constant 5G signal at home but when I go out and about I only get around 3G or sometimes unusable 4G. I've tried device restarts, SIM card reinsert and everything.1.7KViews0likes0Comments
