Problems with new SIM card.

I've activated a new SIM card and transferred an old phone number from BT.  This is to be used in a basic (non-smart) mobile for my mom and I've received confirmation from Smarty that the phone number has been transferred but I can only make Emergency calls from the phone.

You say you have a basic phone, does that phone have 4G?

Three's network is 4G/5G only, so you have to have a phone that supports at least 4G or it won't work on any Three based network including SMARTY.

The other UK networks have 2G for now, however this will be switched off in the next few years and you'll need to replace it by then for any network. O2 plans to stop allowing 2G-only devices from next year for example.

You can get a basic 4G phone like the Nokia 105 for under £20
