Spending cap
I have just joined Smarty. Is there a way to prevent myself, and other members of my Group Plan, incurring any out-of-plan charges? Other networks that I have used previously have a spend cap facility, which could be set to zero. Does Smarty have anything similar?

SimonMe Smarty doesn't work that way. If you do not put any credit onto your account as an dd-on, then no services will be available.
Put simply, you cannot use anything that you have not put money on to cover in advance.
If you do decide to put add-on credit on the account, there is an automatic limit of £45 for worldwide roaming services that you can change if you contact them.

Thank you for explaining that to me! So, if I understand you correctly, if I don’t purchase any add-on credit, there is no way that my payment each month will be any more than the regular monthly amount that I would be expecting.

SimonMe Exactly so! That's one of the good points about this type of network. You can't get any nasty surprises.
If you try, for example, to dial an international number from UK without credit, you will simply get a message that this service is not available to you. Similar message if you are outside the EU and try to make a call while having no add on credit.
