SIM status, Roaming off.
I live in Northern Ireland (part of the UK) but recently had to pick my partner up at Dublin Airport. She was to phone me when she arrived. When I went across the border, I had no service..zilch. I was lucky to find her!
I checked all my phones settings (roaming enabled, mobile data on, 5G, APN mob.asm.net etc). The "help" bot said I should have reported it when it happened (how could I with no service?). She gave me £2 credit (??).
I checked in "about phone" in settings, device info, SIM info and it clearly says "no roaming" so it will never work despite me having an addon for EU calls.
My phone is a Moto g35. I had no problems with Giffgaff, my previous provider, but will be going abroad soon. Is there any solution to this? TIA

- Go to ‘Settings’
- Tap ‘More…’ under ‘Wireless & Networks’ or 'Connections'
- Open ‘Mobile Network’
- Open ‘Access Point Names’ - If you don’t have any access point you’ll need to create a new one and skip to step number 7.
- Open ‘3’
- Open ‘Edit Access Point’
- Change the APN to: mob.asm.net
- If you find you can't change the APN, then you'll need to add a new one
