Remove payment option

I think if you remove the auto-renew option, you might be able to remove out-of-date payment methods.
There's room for improvement for online payment method management in the online SMARTY account, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

To delete payment details you will need to turn off auto-renew in your account.
- Save these changes and exit the page.
- Go back into payment settings, turn off "securely store payment details".
- Save these changes and exit the page again.
- Now, no card details will be stored so you can re-add the details you want in your account.

I can confirm this works but I didn't need to go back in to my settings to turn off secure payments it asked if i wanted to save my card details once I switched off the auto renew so I clicked no and exited. When I went back in to payment methods there were no stored cards.

Over 18 months later and this kludge which requires more effort from the customer to re-add their payment information still isnt fixed?
Think of all the support tickets created because it's not at all intuitive.
Never mind the GDPR repercussions of if/when smarty gets hacked and all this payment data is leaked.

Thanks. Worked for me.
It wiped out all the cards on my Smarty Payment Methods. When I added back my required Payment Method card, Revolut (my card) asked me to authorise a full payment monthly payment amount, even though I was not trying to pay anything, just change my card details on Smarty.
I took a chance, and authorised it on Revolut, and luckily I was not charged. Revolut just says: £0 card verification.
