Phone screen broken. How do i transfer my smarty number to another phone?

Hi

I have dropped my phone, my screen now doesn.t come on. I have a spare phone that I can use until i get it fixed or get a replacement phone. I have put the sim into my new phone, it works for calls/sms etc however I cannot login to my google account as it sends a code for 2 level authentication to my original phone which obviously I cannot retreive because the screen is blank!

How can I transfer my smarty account to recognise the new phone so I can retreive emails?

DavidScr_907890  Not sure I understand. How does Google send a code to your old phone if there is no sim in it? Wouldn't it send the code to wherever your sim is?

DavidScr_907890 Can you access your Google account on another device? If so, you can change your settings so that you can get the 2-step verification codes sernt via e-mail.

You can enable 2-step verification and choose to have codes sent via email, in addition to other methods like Google prompts, phone messages, or Google Authenticator.

Here's how to set it up:
    1. Sign in to your Google Account: Go to your Google Account settings.
    2. Go to Security: Find the Security section in your account settings.
    3. Choose 2-Step Verification: Look for "Signing in to Google" and select "2-Step Verification".
    4. Set it up: Follow the on-screen instructions to enable 2-step verification and select your preferred method for receiving verification codes. Email can be an option.
    5. Confirm: You'll likely need to verify your email address with a code sent to it before completing the setup.
    6. Backup Codes: Google also provides backup codes that can be printed, downloaded, or written down. Keep these safe in case you can't access your phone or email.
