Misled and very annoyed

Just put my sim in my mini mobile router. I bought it so that when my wife goes on holiday, if she has no signal she could use wifi to whatsapp me. The advert read, there is no contract, which is what I wanted. I wanted to use it along the lines of PAYG, so in other words if I didnt want to pay anything one month I could just skip, all I wanted to start with is to try it at home then when my wife went on holiday, or I ended up in hospital, to see how it works and explain it to my wife, then I would top it up with a higher one month term. "ONLY AFTER PAYING" I find out if you stop the recurring payment they cancel, which means going through setting it all up again as a new plan. If I'd known we were going to be conned into paying every month I would not have joined. I am very disappointed. Does anyone else feel the same. The advert is very misleading and annoying. Hello DavidF1406,

It's disappointing to hear that you've felt misled with your purchase. Please let me reassure you that the plan is not a contract, but rolls month-to-month with a recurring card payment.

If you choose not to use it for a month here and there, you can turn off auto-renew from your account dashboard. As MSF very helpfully mentioned, your plan will only cancel if it's inactive for 180 days, and you also get an extra 40-day grace period after this.

This means that you can effectively pause your plan for up to 6 months at a time, which I hope gives you the flexibility that you need. When you decide to use the service again, your renewal date will tie in to when the payment is completed.

I hope this clarifies things, but please feel free to share any other questions that you have.

    Michael

DavidF1406 NivenMa_3364262  If you turn off the auto-renew function in your Account Dashboard, you (obviously) do not renew the plan for the next month. You still should be able to buy another plan when you need to BUT.....if you do not purchase any plan for 180 days then you normally receive an email with a 40 day warning and the sim is then deactivated.

Is that maybe the case for each of you? (Email may have landed in Junk/Spam)

It's certainly not a con; there is no contract and it is a form of PAYG except that each plan lasts for a month.

I feel your pain. Also, 8 days later, multiple contacts with three different agents and no resolution to a similar issue. Many promises and ZERO delivery on what had been committed to. Instead, these individuals insist that a SIM swap between my two devices will resolve the matter (which it did not). What a fool I am for believing the nonsense. Misled and provided false information.

I guess sticking to the bigger providers is the best option - more costly, but at least one gets service when needed.
