Configuring my phone to work abroad

For my phone to work abroad, the page "Setting up your Android device to work abroad" tells me I need to change my Access Point Name (APN) to mob.asm.net. It has only recently changed to wap.vodafone.co.uk

  1. Do I still need to make the change?
  2. Do I edit the name, or add a new APN?

    iantresman  Yes you do need to change it as directed. The APN itself should say mob.asm.net - you do not need any other username.

    In Settings when I select my Smarty SIM, there is no option to view, let alone add a new Access Point Name.

    In case anyone else has the problem, it is because I had set my other Lebara SIM for data. I had to specify my Smarty SIM for data before it would show its APN names, and mob.asm.net was already configured.
