Clocks running but I can't make calls

I signed up to Smarty, with a PAC code to transfer my number. The prior help suggested that the transfer would be done in <2 hours. I got my new SIM, put it in, and activated it. Now I am being told it can take 2 days to get my number. Here's my problem I can't use my SIM for calls or text but my monthly allowance has already started. I'm paying for the transfer period when I cannot use the service. The only fair and transparent way of doing this would be to start the clock once the transfer is complete. The other option would be to enable the number that comes with the SIM card, which is aliased to my old number once it is transferred.  What do you think?

In addition to the great advice from MSF  the porting of numbers always takes 1 to 2 business days, irrespective of network, and numbers never port at weekends.

I appreciate what should happen but I am still stuck with no service from my SIM. Maybe I should have known that swapping providers wasn't as easy as the advertising implies. How should I cancel, especially when my number is mid-transfer

Michael_2207902 If you have no service at all from your sim - and it is showing as active in your account dashboard - then you need to web chat with the Support Team so that they can check.

Michael_2207902  When you activated the sim, it was given a random number and this should show on your account dashboard. This will change to your transferred-in number once the process has completed.

When you input your number and PAC, you would have been given a date for the transfer - this is anytime up to 5pm on the next business day normally.

You certainly should be able to use your Smarty plan before the number is transferred in; the only issue is that people you call will see a number that they do not recognise - but at least you can call/text.
