Bad network

I have recently joined SMARTY. It’s my first month and my experience has been so bad so far. I don’t get any signal in London, especially inside buildings or around areas with buildings. My network is worse than other people at all times

I think I've done about over 2yrs on Smarty. I moved from Giffgaff/o2 predominantly for the signal where I used to work, I like this network over GG, i wonder about other networks in my area being better, or are they mostly the same for signal performance?

yen Almost impossible to say without trying each one to see if it is better than what you have.

Even then you may find that any network you choose has a worse signal if you travel elsewhere. No network ever seems to be perfect for all people. If it were the case that one network far exceeded the others, then probably everyone would move to it and the masts would become overloaded - leading to a worse signal for everyone!

Since 2 days now I have been disrupted by no services in Enfield area in the United Kingdom, I have 3 monthly subscribed going on without any improvement in my area.

You are not alone, I live in Dudley in the West Midlands. I have a data only service. £20 per month. I went from being able to do my daily tasks, email, update software, streaming media etc without issue approx 20 to 30Mbps down to 0.1Mbps. This happened on the 18th February 2026.

I contacted Smarty support and explained everything. All you get is the usual stock answers, restart your device. We are working on a solution. Its almost like listening to the worlds greatest lies. We wont put prices up. The cheques in the post etc etc.

Things dont improve, Smarty are a virtual network provider and as such they rely on Three and now Vodaphone. Customer services in my opinion are nest to useless, all they do is refer to flow charts etc and give excuses not explanations.

The problem at my location is not with my equipment, but mast side. The LTE stack is at fault and is resulting in reduced bandwidth. This shows up as buffering when streaming and poor downloac speeds. For the record i have 100% signal strength and can see the mas from my living room.

There is always work going on to resolve problems !.

Things still have not improved at my location. I turned off recurring payments and informed Smarty via a formal complaint. I am currently monitoring the situation and will be making a decision on either to move to a competitor or bite the bullet and have fibre installed.

RoyWilk_2576720 You cannot really compare a mobile setup with fibre.

I'm also not sure that you will be 'biting the bullet'; I have recently managed to get £24 per month fixed for 24 months for 150Mb line from my broadband provider and that it less than I was paying them for 75Mb beforehand. When I check speeds, they are always at least 140Mb down and 27Mbup (on wifi rather than ethernet cable to device)

Vanshik_4039545 Inside buildings, it is often the case that mobile signal is poor because you can get shielding of the signal due to large metal structures. Obviously it will affect some networks more than others depending upon how strong the signal is for that network in the area.

It may unfortunately turn out that this network will not work for you if you need signal in that area - pity really.
