"Awaiting number" for a SIM card I just bought in store that came with a number?

Hi I just activated the SIM I bought in the Coop and my account just says "awaiting number" and from the email I got it appears as though they're posting me a different SIM?

I paid for this SIM card in store so I didn't have to wait.

Really bad first experience.

    Also my phone just says "No service"

      It sounds like instead of activating the SIM you got from the shop, you've accidentally ordered another one and paid for a plan on it.

      Your shop bought SIM will continue to show No Service, as you have not in fact activated it. 

      At this stage I would just wait for the one you've just ordered to come through the post.

        No this is not my fault, I went to smarty.co.uk/activate, entered the SIM number, clicked Continue, chose my plan, created my account, and paid.

        It's impossible to get wrong. The system is broken.
