RUTHDur_2737673​ I am assuming you bought a 3 day unlimited pass, which also costs £5. This won't let you make international calls. It just gives you access to unlimited data for a set amount of time.

You need an out of plan add-on to make international calls; that's the add-ons under the category "International calls, texts and data" (though clicking on the "UK chargeable calls and shortcodes" category add-ons should be the same as they both add out of plan add-on balance). You could even have used the add-on recommendation tool to help you find the right add-on to buy.
