Fairphone 6 network

Network keeps randomly dropping, restarting the phone seems to restore the signal. Sometimes it comes back by itself. I know it's not a network issues as my partner is on SMARTY and it's happened when we're sitting next to each other.

Tried the APN settings and going through the support chat but kept going in circles. Anyone else having this issue?

    Hi ZenovA,

The service interruptions seem to happen everywhere in the UK, cities, ritual etc. Have previously tried turning off 5G to no avail.

I only have an eSIM, so can't be that. And yeah have never observed a network outage happening.

I'll try resetting my mobile network settings as I haven't done that yet.

    Thanks

RichardH_622914 If this is an issue on your end, support won't do much other than suggest things to do, which is the same list of steps along the lines of "Did you try restarting it". But it is always possible there's something wrong on their end, causing only you to have issues while your partner doesn't.

Do you get service while outside a building or in a different area? Try resetting mobile network settings, which will be under Settings > System > Reset options > Reset mobile network settings. Try switching to 4G network mode, as it is possible your phone is holding onto a weak 5G signal and not dropping down to 4G. Update the phone to the latest updates, as well as updating all applications. Try reinserting the SIM just in case that works.

Also, insert your SIM into other phones. If the connection issues continue, you can rule out your device being faulty, and it is either the SIM card or your account. You can also try inserting your partner's SIM into your Fairphone 6 and see if the issues happen on your phone. It is also possible that your phone doesn't get a signal just as well as your partner's device does. Not all phones have the same chipsets or antenna designs, so their network performance may differ.

Confirm you have network coverage and that there are no outages in your area. This one is unlikely, as this would probably also knock out your partner's service.

You can try getting a replacement SIM, just in case your SIM is faulty or is not correctly provisioned. This will suspend your service until you get your new SIM (unless you choose an eSIM, which will be emailed to you).

If none of that worked, it is possible the issue is on their end. You would need to go to support again, tell them you contacted them before and tried different things on your end. They can then create a ticket with their internal team, and you would be contacted by Email.
