Cant make calls in the house

My samsung galaxy phone works fine away from home but in the house it does not send or receive mesages and cant make or receive calls. To make it work indoors I turn on airplane mode then turn back on wifi and Bluetooth so that it uses wifi calling. This is obviously extremely annoying and it  has persisted for several months. has anyone else had same problem and found a solution?
