WiFi Calling and VoLTE Support
I've hit my first snag with SMARTY, having jumped over from Three last week everything has gone through smoothly and working mostly as expected, with a few issues getting an equally as good signal in a few locations (but to be expected). However I'd noticed that WiFi calling and VoLTE don't seem to be enabled, (WiFi calling being a big dealbreaker for me), I thought it might just be a provisioning thing at first so ive left it a few day's however I still can't see it. Chat support hasn't been very useful, just stating it's not compatible, with no other explanation, other than an empty apology and thanking me for my patience? I've previously had this supported perfectly fine on both Three and EE, I'm using a Sony Xperia V II (a bit long in the tooth now but by no means ancient), looking at the device compatibility list, there's both devices which are way older and running much older versions of android to boot. Can anyone shed any light into this? Without a good explanation as to why a device doesn't support WiFi calling on the SMARTY network but works perfectly fine on others, I'm hesitant to upgrade to a newer model in case of the same result. I can't really see why it would be a hardware or OS issue so it must be a configuration issue on the SMARTY network side? If I'm being honest this isn't very encouraging, and with no contract to lock me in I'm already considering moving again.Solved20KViews0likes26CommentsRedmi Note 10 Pro - WiFi calling compatible?
Hello, I’m considering bringing my husband to Smarty, but we live in an area where the signal strength on all networks is quite low. This means we need WiFi calling. I have an iPhone 15 so no problems there with compatibility, but my husband has a Redmi Note 10 Pro. I checked the WiFi calling compatibility list on the Smarty site and noticed there is a ‘Redmi Note 10GB”. Is this the same phone or something different? Does anyone have the Note 10 Pro and does the WiFi calling work with it? Any help appreciated. Thanks2.8KViews0likes2CommentsMoto G13 will not pick up WiFi Calling
I have a new Moto G13 and have been using SMARTY on various phones for years. I live in a rural area, and WiFi calling is a must. it is updated to Android 14. The phone is set up as per all of the guidance, on here, on Motorola's site and elsewhere on the web, but WiFi Calling does not kick in. I am baffled. We have 2 other (cheap) phones that it works fine on, as well as it working on the old Android 9 Samsung. Does Smarty have to flick a switch like Samsung used to? Thank you2.3KViews0likes4CommentsNo wifi calling
I have tried everything smarty have suggested concerning WiFi calling. I have a Samsung A55 5g handset and I live in a rural area so I NEED wifi calling, and I THOUGHT I had it. When making or receiving calls, 'sorry I can't hear you' is something I constantly hear as my signal drops in and out. I need something that actually works, this is a deal breaker on staying or leaving Smarty.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsNetwork Status E3 2DS
Good evening. I have had a SMARTY connection for some time now. The main reason was that SMARTY offered WiFi Calling, and I have a WiFi Calling enabled phone, whereas the previous service provider did not. I live in Bow E3 2DS - for several weeks now the reception has been very poor and the information on the Network Status checker hasn't changed. It's also difficult to make or receive calls in the Olympic Park as well. Whilst I'm not a power user of the system and I do have another service providers SIM card as back-up in my phone I can't find any information on why there is a problem. It seemed to coincide with the move of 3 to Vodafone/Virgin Media. I have followed the suggestions on the Network pages and turned the device off and tried the SIM in another phone I suppose the next thing is to move the number back to the other service provider! I can't keep coasting along without any service. If anyone can shed any light on this problem I would be grateful of a response. I am unsure who to speak to.91Views0likes1Comment
