Port email - activation time
I have an email from Smarty: Great news your port request for your number XXXX XXXXXXX has now successfully completed! What the email does not say is when the number will become active. Began my port on Thursday. Still no service now at the end of Monday, so my number is useless and in this day and age that means I can't get into things like my bank. Support are totally unhelpful, not sure they really have any idea what's going on, just offering vague platitudes and no useful information. Anyone else had a similar experience and know if there's any other team to speak to who actually have some way to help? I took out a Smarty account using a Bonus Sim a family member had with their Sim, on Monday. After some trouble getting it activated, I finally was able to select a tariff. Then I submitted my PAC - all before 5pm. It's now Thursday, so by tomorrow it'll be 4 full days waiting to get the number ported. I've contacted Support, but am being told 'its a technical issue, we'll update you' but that's it. No indication of how long, no explanation of why it's taking so long and so on. Meanwhile, I took out a nickname Sim to give to my Son, which arrived on Tuesday. I submitted the PAC on Wednesday, and it activated today, all as planned. But my number is still pending. Annoyingly, Smarty have a better discount than I had when I joined on Monday! I haven't been able to use the Sim, and have no idea when I will get my number ported! Ported my number over from giffgaff on Friday the 17th of January, waited till Tuesday the 21st however the port seems to have failed. Contacted Smarty support and been informed that they haven't received the "files" from giffgaff to complete the port, have spoken to giffgaff and they have assured me that, from their point of view, the port was successful. Back to Smarty support who are now telling me it will take 24 to 48 hours to investigate, in the meantime no one can call my number (the one I ported over) nor have an option to leave a voicemail. Phone has been rebooted a handful of times and have checked that the SIM slot hasn't been software disabled in the phone settings. Have asked for this to be escalated however that was ignored, any further ideas from the community? I just purchased a monthly sim. In the process I could port my current number. I entered the PAC code but it said there was an issue right now and to go ahead with the "maybe later" option and that I could port it after signing up. So now I have a new account and a SIM on the way, but I see no option to Port my number? I just see "awaiting number " in my dashboard. Any ideas?185Views0likes1Comment
