Group Plans + Bonus SIM Card
Hi All, new customer here. I got a Bonus SIM in with my new SIM so thought I would get my Daughter a contract. Disappointing too see that the new offers are only available to new customers, but I digress. So I am all set up, I click on the Group Plan button and then click I HAVE A BONUS SIM. I'm then told to activate the bonus card.....which I cannot do as I would need to create a whole new account for my 14 year old Daughter. So I try activating it on my name....which then wants to send me a brand new SIM, even though I have a "BONUS" one in front of me. So I cannot activate a BONUS sim to an old account?, despite what the instructions say on the screen, the only way is to order a new SIM card?, seems like a pointless expense.....why can I not just use the BONUS SIM that is sat in front of me?. Has anyone else come across a solution before I order yet another SIM and burn up the planets resources unnecessarily?. Many thanks, Rich19KViews16likes19CommentsChange name of a user within a group plan
Hello, I have added my son to our group plan but when his Smarty account was initially created we used my name (he was the set up before anyone else), so we now have 2 users under our group of 8 users with the same name, albeit different phone numbers. Is there a way I can change 'my' name to his to make the users easier to identify?Solved11KViews0likes13CommentsGroup (of 2) plan. Can I close the group owner account but keep the group member account open?
Because I can't see a way of doing it. I can't remove the group member account from the group, apparently, because it's a nickname SIM. I can't close the group owner account because I'm not switching to another provider. Am I missing something? Going forward, all I want is just want one standalone account with one of my existing numbers.Solved11KViews1like15CommentsHow can sending just 13 texts in a group be classed as "business purposes" and banned ??
I tried to send just 13 texts on a group msg and received a "Message not sent: service not activated on network" error. After a long and painful online chat (you know the kind: turn off phone take out SIM wait 3 min etc etc) the online rep decided I was contravening SMARTYs "terms and conditions, using the phone for business purposes or sending spam or "smishing". Just 13 texts to addresses in my contacts list ?? Really??6.4KViews0likes12CommentsAppalling experience with Smarty
I have a group plan, been paying my lads SIM for months, he has never once received mobile data. Only today did my daughters SIM register. Again no mobile data despite being paid. That's four Sims being paid for with only two working, and another was supposed to be getting added. To add insult I was trying to remove my own account restrictions where they demand a refundable £1 payment. Four attempts where my bank states authorised, payment is taken, Smarty says it didn't work, try a different card, again authorised, payment taken, but app claims it didn't work. Despite all accounts showing Smarty took the funds. Why the hell does the adult who opens an account that requires verification and a direct debit have to then pay to verify and unlock their own content restrictions on an account that requires me to be over 18.5.8KViews2likes5CommentsGroup plan set parental control for non owner member
Hello there i have a group plan where I, as the owner, can set the parental control for the owner phone. However, I have another phone in the group and cannot seem to see settings to set up the parental control for that phone. Can anyone help and advise how I can set up parental control for not for each phone in the group independently of each other . Thanks. Paul5.2KViews0likes5CommentsGroup %10 Discount.
So I've been with Smarty a month now, I have a group set up with mine & my daughter's SIM card When registering it was advertised that you get %10 off while in a group. I received my bill on the 22nd & was billed two £10s instead of £9? Is there something I have to do to apply the %10 discount? I plan on adding more Sims to my group but I can get cheaper family deals from BT/EE if discount is not being applied. Thanks, Andrew.Solved4.5KViews0likes5CommentsIphone mini 12 sim card
Hello... hope someone can help... I might be being dim (very possible) but have just got a Iphone mini 12 and when it comes to putting my existing sim card in, the tray looks like it should take a sim card that is the same size (nano) but the part of the sim which is angled doesn't align with the part of the tray which accommodates this?? I've tried putting it in "upside down" so they align but that doesn't feel right and sim card is not read by the phone... any help much appreciated! JonSolved3.8KViews0likes4Comments
