18+ Content - enabled but cannot access
SIM 1 - this is in my Android cellphone SIM 2 - this is in my home 5G router, unlimited data BOTH SIM 1 and 2 had their 18+ Content ENABLED on 14/6/23 after submitted my photo ID as requested by Smarty. Everything have been working fine with no issues since that date, whether browsing on my cellphone at home accessing online via the 5G router (e.g SIM 2) or when I'm away from home (e.g SIM 1) Sun 13/8/23 - Access online to 18+ Content on my cellphone at home (e.g. SIM 2) came up with the blank page: The connection for this site is not secure www. <webpage name> .com sent an invalid response ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR [REFRESH] Tried on the laptop (connected to home 5G router), it was the same message. Browser then took me to the three.co.uk's url after I'd closed the browser and relaunched and cleared cache and cookies. Three's url says as follows: We’re currently rolling out updates to give you a more satisfying customer experience. As a result, some customers may temporarily have restricted access to some functions online. If you’re having difficulty finding the information you need, get in touch and we’ll help you get to where you need to go. Turn off Wi-Fi. Head to the Adult Filter toggle on your phone. Remember, this won't work on a desktop browser. It'll only work on your phone. You'll need a credit card to verify your age. If you don't have one to hand, just contact us and we'll help. You can also visit a Three store, if that's easier. Once you've done this, just switch your adult filter settings to suit your preferences. Don't worry – you can change this whenever you want. I contacted Smarty Customer Services (SCS), they just regurgitated what I have already done and asked me, for the 2nd time, to submit photo, after going through the security checks of name, postcode, last payment amount etc........ They then replied that the 18+ Content is now enabled, even though it already was on BOTH SIMs. Re started both my devices as mentioned above, still the same issue with no access. Its NOT my 5G home router, that has no parental restriction applied on it and no changes were made to its setting. Explaining the situation to the SCS was painful, they don't seem to understand something so simple so I gave up and trying here. Smarty ADMIN - can one of you please respond, I have wasted a lot of my time, providing screen grabs to help your SCS to understand so they can fix the problem that occurred due to no part from my end.22KViews3likes24Comments5g

hi everybody, overall my experience with SMARTY is quite good especially with the 5G. However, I am facing very weak or non-existent indoor signal. I have unlimited data which I intend to use at home as well, but it is so useless that I can’t even do anything and speeds are in kilobytes. I have complained multiple times to the Customer Services team, but they keep saying that there is some unplanned maintenance. However, this has been going on for the last few months. I have tried all the techniques like resetting my phone, resetting network, settings, et cetera. The customer service team is not helpful, at least they should offer me some sort of discount For the fact that I am not able to use the services in My Home.15KViews10likes17Comments5g connection
My device is not listed on the phone 5g supported devices list in help and support. I own a Nokia g50 which can do 5G connection. As this network piggybacks on the three network, I used a similar priced network "ID" but only got a 4G connection. Does anyone have the same phone or a 5G enabled device that has connected to the 5G on smarty? because I really want to join this network again.Solved14KViews0likes13Comments5G whilst roaming in Spain
I can’t find any specific info on this in Q&A, so looking to anyone who has experience of this… I will be going on holiday to the Canary Islands (Spain) and this will be the first time I will have used my SMARTY SIM outside the UK. Spain is one of the included countries for free EU roaming, and the resort I am staying in has excellent coverage from all the 4 Spanish mobile networks, 2 of them offering 5G speeds. Will I still get 5G whilst there or will this be limited to 4G only whilst roaming?Solved12KViews0likes12CommentsStrange Signal Issues. Not Impressed.
So I recently got an iPhone 13 Pro. Since I received it the phone has been jumping from 3G to 4G where I live, my previous iPhone XR more or less stayed on 4G after what seemed to be very recent upgrades to the network. This is because it used to also pick up 3G or just drop the signal. So I went in your chat and spoke to a representative who advised me the masts are being worked on in my area and this includes 4G and 5G and this would be finished by March 1st. That has come and gone and no change. So I just figured fine I have a worst signal now. But today I drove 13 miles to my nearest big town as it is stated on both the Three and Smarty coverage checkers to have full 5G signal coverage, this being my first 5G phone I wanted check it out as I was out that way today anyway. And obviously Smarty state you do not need a new SIM for 5G to work. Well I managed to find a spot where my iPhone reported 3 bars out of 4 of 5G signal. And nothing! Absolutely nothing worked on it, nada, zilch. I couldn't run any speed tests from the Speedtest app, it just timed out looking for the server, I tried the Nperf app which would start a test then promptly crash with a server error. But I also could not browse ANY websites! I tried every setting: APN to three.co.uk and mob.ask.net Voice and data set to 5G On and 5G Auto Data mode to standard and to Allow more data on 5G Limit IP address tracking on and off. I rebooted my iPhone several times after changing settings. Also turned it off and on and also turned Airplane mode on and off and still absolutely nothing? So I then fixed the cellular data to 4G LTE only and EVERYTHING worked fine, I did a Speedtest and I got 30 ping and 130mbps down and 18 up! So what is going on? Why is the 5G not working? Do I need a new SIM card? Does Smarty need to change my phones carrier settings? I'm really unimpressed I have to say. It makes me suspicious of my phone switching between 3G and 4G all the time too. Or are iPhones not compatible with Smarty's / Three's 5G signals?9KViews0likes11CommentsData usage
Hi, I am new with smarty and opted for 4G of data. I was previously with 3 and barely reached 4G ever in 5+ years. Just once I think when I was on holiday it was close but I have never went over. First week with Smarty I ran out of data in less than 1 week. I don’t watch or download films/music from my phone especially when out and about. Mostly email/messages/WhatsApp/maps but nothing excessive at all and no change since moving from 3. Any ideas in what’s happening? Any guidance?8.6KViews1like12CommentsiPhone 14 support 5G and Wi-Fi calling
SMARTY does not currently support 5G and Wi-Fi calling on the latest iPhone 14 range. It therefore would be a BIG step-down in terms features for many customer’s that are planning to upgrade their mobile phone or receiving new phones as Christmas presents. Unlike the USA model, the iPhone 14 range of phones in the UK does still have a SIM Tray, so SMARTY not supporting an eSIM would not be a deal breaker here? On speaking to Customer Service at SMARTY I have been advised that you are waiting for Apple in order to move this forward, yet the Apple website shows that the 3 network infrastructure does already support both of these features already? EDIT 8/12/2022 SMARTY has a slogan of simple, honest mobile. However, this question hasn’t been answered by anyone at SMARTY, and further questions other topics have been posted afterwards, which have been answered? I’d like to upgrade my phone, but so far I’m getting the generic response of “we are adding new phones all the time”, but no actual indication whether this phone will be indeed be added, despite the fact it is already has 5G and Wi-Fi calling on 3? If it’s a case that 3 won’t let you do this, then why not be honest? Not answering the question or giving a response that is non committing is not really demonstrating this? Other MVNOs with other network providers do have iPhone 14 compatibility. New phones from other manufacturers are supported by SMARTYSolved8.5KViews2likes7Comments4g and 5g Not available
I have moved address in last 4 days, before the moved I was getting speeds of 200MB to 400 MB a second in city center where I lived. I have only moved half a mile away and now I cant get even 1bar of 4g or 5g. Download speeds are 1MB a second uploads are 0.25. There are occassions where 4g kicks in in 2bars and on times 5g kicks in but isnt the speeds typical of 5g. I have been in touch with support but stated theres unplanned work. When i check the network status for my area theres no reported issues. I downloaded OpenSignal to show what mast I connect to moving around the house causes me to cinnect to two masts of which are bith under a mile away. As I am typing this i noticed the 4g come in then 4g+ with 5g two bars then goes off again. I have checked signal quality ir strengtg in the phone, about status info, sim card status and shiws _110 dBm 32 asu whatever that is. I noticed with this screen open it flips to Nr Nsa when 5g kicks in, and lte on 4g data type. PHONE CALLS ARW ALWAYS Lte. Would it be worth me getting a mobile phone signal booster which goes outside and brings a stronger 5g signal inside or is this a simple issue with the masts and wait. Cheers.8.4KViews0likes18CommentsNew user - can't connect to Wifi during transfer period
I'm a new customer, I transferred from EE and activated my SIM 2 days ago. I'm currently in the transfer period of bringing over my new number due to complete tomorrow 15/04/24. It was working fine last night but as of today my phone is unusable - I can't download any data or use any apps. My iPhone does not connect to Wifi as of this morning. I could understand an issue with data connection during the transfer, it's mentioned that this can take place, but it's completely illogical that the Wifi isn't connecting. It appears to be connected, I have reset it, I have checked for network errors on Zen (it's working on my laptop). I have reset my network settings, and updated the APN. Smarty customer services were not helpful - they kept answering in regards to service outages for mobile data due to engineering works and 'too many people trying to connect to the mast at once'. That's not the issue for me at home, obviously, and I can think of no other reason that my iPhone is behaving so strangely apart from the transfer. Has anyone else had this issue during transfer, how long did it last, how did they resolve? I don't know if it will work itself out in a day or two or it's a permanent issue that I need to fix urgently. The response from customer services has made me worried I've made a terrible mistake in joining Smarty, particularly as I've seen lots of comments/complaints today on the forum about data connection and wifi connection being bad - I'm used to getting a decent 5G service and being able to stream music and download video on mobile with no issues. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it - I need my phone to work because of all the app based authentication on my phone.Solved7.3KViews0likes12Comments
