Text to USA number not going through from UK

I am getting a "not delivered" message when trying to text a USA number.

Details:

- currently in the UK

- I have a USA based iPhone

- I have an add-on

- I can text UK number.

- When I was in the USA texts to a UK phone went though. So, I assume my add-on is active

- The receiver has an Android phone

@Prog1 Firstly, check your Account Dashboard to ensure that you still have credit - you said 'assume'.

Did you put in the full international code?

Failing that, does the person use WhatsApp? You could send the message without charge. (Not sure if you have already discounted that)

Thanks for the reply. There is a credit of 5 pounds. I didn't know if I needed to activate it somehow or if it just works when you use it. 

He doesn't use WhatsApp. I did try the full number +1 775 ... .... but the phone forces me to use his contact. I am wondering if the phone is ignoring the code because it is a USA phone.

@Prog1 Your last paragraph is interesting. Can you delete the person as a Contact and then try the full number?

Tried that. Same result. Also tried calling and that does go through, so probably not a dialing issue. However, he didn't answer. Probably wondering who is calling from a foreign number. Also texted my own USA number and that does is also not delivered.

@Prog1 If he didn't answer, is it a possibility that there is a problem at his end - you weren't sent to voicemail.

A Nevada number?

My call to my friend did go to voicemail. Since then, I have emailed him, and I am awating a reply. Also, I emailed another friend, and he did text me and I was able to reply. My text went through as an SMS as far as I can tell (hehas an iPhone).

Update: just got a text from the friend with the Android phone, but my replies are still "not delivered". The not delivered response is almost immediate. I am thinking maybe it's being blocked at his end.

@Prog1 Perhaps he has inadvertently blocked you.

When you send to an iPhone from an iPhone, it goes via iMessage where possible using data (shows in blue and not green). When you send from iPhone to Android, it is green - fdon't know about android to iPhone as I have not tried that.
