Solved

got a new phone and moved my sim - being told that I have activated my sim

I haven't got a new and its been activated for a long time (over a year).

but now it is saying this "We noticed you activated your SIM. Do you want to bring your phone number to SMARTY?"

Do I need to say yes to bring my number over? if I don't do i lose my number?

The phone won't call out but texts are sending and receiving.

I think that prompt to let you know about the facility to port in a number from another network is always shown in your dashboard (as you can port in a number at any time). It's nothing to be concerned about and you don't need to do anything.

Regarding your calling issue, I agree with MSF's advice - you need to check the new phone is compatible with Smarty's VoLTE (4G calling).

SmartyTrousers JamesMc_2048628  Yes, I had quite forgotten that the section offering you the opportunity to port in a number is shown in your dashboard regardless of how long ago you in fact ported in the number you wanted. https://smarty.co.uk/dashboard/settings/phone-number shows me that even though I ported in my number a long time ago - I'm sure that the numbers were in Latin figures then!! ğŸ¤£
