Using my phone my Thailand and the cheapest way
Hi I'm travelling to Thailand in January 2026 for 10 days..so not to leave this to the last minute 😉
I have read the guides here and am aware of certain settings so my phone with a Smarty Sim card would work whilst there in Thailand but what might be cheapest for getting data...gettting an our of plan add on? or would people recommend using a local Thai esim? as I say I'm keen to use data mostly.

If you're mainly using data, then a data-only eSIM with a travel plan for Thailand might be cheaper option, juancha808.

🤞juancha808 Roaming in Thailand will cost you 10p per megabyte - that is £102.40 per gigabyte!!!
You will definitely be better off with either a local sim or else an international data e-sim (if your phone can accept esims). You can set up the international Esim before you go, but it may be more complicated to get a local sim beforehand I think.
